Not totaling unrelated, but I noticed on my Mojave the fresh air intake rubber was sanding the paint away from the underside of the hood and rusting an outline of the gasket.

I noticed some very light scuffing on my paint on the underside of the hood from the air intake as well. I used some thin foam weatherstrip tape on the hood to protect it, although I suppose you could use paint protection film.

Here are the shots, they had the right idea, but the tape was too short.

On mine, the tape started coming off within a week. Luckily, that clued me in to the rubbing, so I caught it before any real paint damage was done.

Where was this? Spring rains and snow melt? That sucks!
Last fall. At a dealer in Northern NJ that I never used before because of horrible online reviews.

The dealership flooded from overnight heavy rains and a river being adjacent to their property. Apparently, its done it before a couple years ago where vehicles actually floated off the lot and went down the river where they got jammed under a bridge. I found this out after some further searching about the dealer after my truck was destroyed. Here's a screen shot of video someone took:

But, they never gave me any warning... no heads up, no phone call, no contact. Nothing. I had no idea this would happen. Worse part is that the truck was 100% driveable and I would have picked it up instead of going through the mess.

Interestingly, they conveniently removed all of their dealer cars off the lot the during the day before the flood came. And, they left all of the customers cars (like mine) behind. I have the dash cam video from when it kicked on (when it shorted), as well as photos from the day I dropped it off showing they had the lots maxed out.... and then empty the day after the flooding because they had moved their cars to safety. All of the flooded customers cars left behind had plates on them.

A couple days after the flood, when they brought all their cars back, they had them for sale even though they refused to release my flooded truck. After 7 days, I went back with the police to get my truck and they immediately released it saying "it was just a misunderstanding".
