I feel like my OCD has been going off a bit lately. The truck feels as if it’s almost shaking a bit while sitting idle. I popped open the hood today to take a peek and it seems as if it’s a ticking sound going on.

40 degrees no ac or heat going

10k miles.

Yeah, dealer time for a warranty visit. Like @Lunentucker mentioned, probably a wiped cam from lifter issue.

People Work?
I'd suggest doing an oil change and sending a sample to Blackstone Labs for analysis so you'll have some documentation in case the dealer gives you the classic, "That's a normal sounding engine" or "what ticking sound?'

shitty. Against my better judgment I JUST had this changed at the dealer because I needed to leave town and didn’t have time to change myself. Hopefully they didn’t botch it lol

Have you checked the oil level to see if they over or under filled it? Need to wait 10 minutes after shutoff before checking to get a accurate measure.

Not much they could botch unless they left the oil out.
Even 1 quart too full won't cause damage or ticking.
Check the oil pressure - 30 up to about 3,000 RPM then should read 70.
Check the dipstick (not the guy that changed the oil, the actual physical dip stick) for oil level after it sits a while.

That alone is a problem............... combine that with the ticking, there's likely physical cam/follower damage.

Hypothetically, what’s the end result if you just keep driving it…assuming you take to a dealer and they say it sounds normal, then you drive it another 10k miles…at some point isn’t it going to become undeniable or you’ll get a check engine light and then they just have to give you a brand new engine if you are still under the powertrain warranty? Seems like a pay me now or pay me later situation.

I assume it’s just that. A deny until either A you can deny anymore or B warranty runs out.
