I don't know where to put this bitch-fest so it's going here....

We shall call this "Order A". I ordered a 2.5" Teraflex spacer lift for my JT from Extreme Terrain on 10/5/24. $376.00. Arrived to my door on 10/8 and I immediately and excitedly ripped it open. It was wrong. They sent me a 1.5" kit in a 2.5" box. Someone somewhere boxed this thing up wrong. Ugh, very disappointing, but shit happens. I called Extreme Terrain right away and got the return process initiated. Their customer service rep suggested I buy another kit as that would be faster than returning my incorrect kit and waiting for a refund or replacement. I just wanna put this lift on my truck so I agreed and bought the same kit. In the meantime I was directed to take a bunch of pics of the wrong stuff, the box it came in, and was provided a shipping label to send it back to the factory - Teraflex.

So that day...10/8/24...a second 2.5" Teraflex spacer lift kit was ordered from Extreme Terrain. $376.00 again. We'll call that one "Order B". While waiting for Order B to arrive I sent back Order A in it's original box all sealed up as directed. On 10/10/24 Order B arrived and again I ripped that baby open, and to my absolute shock and horror, it was also wrong in the exact same way. Again, these idiots boxed up a 1.5" kit in a 2.5" box and sent it out. Order A and Order B, both totally wrong in the exact same way. So I get back on the phone with Extreme Terrain and start this idiotic process all over again. Once again I have to take a bunch of pics and stuff. Although this time , almost like Teraflex was spying on me, or just coincidence, I get a random email telling me something has shipped. Teraflex has sent me something. A few days later a box with the 2" lift spacers arrives and I can go on about my business. Hooray! I assume this is the replacement for Order A. I install the proper kit no problem in my driveway. All is well as far as that is concerned.

But I'm still sitting on a kit "Order B" I've ordered, instructed to order, that's wrong and neither Extreme Terrain nor Teraflex has done anything about it. More phone calls, more pics, lots of confused customer service reps. Lots of "let me kick this up to my manager" kind of stuff. But no refund. Not even a return label to send it back.

I paid for two kits out of good faith, both of them were wrong, and it took some shenanigans to get the first one right. Finally on 10/26/24....3 weeks after the initial order....I get a return label for the remaining incorrect kit. I ship it out on 10/28/24. I called Extreme Terrain to inform them and they said when it gets back to Teraflex I'll get my refund. Cool. Well Teraflex got it back on 11/5/24 and Extreme Terrain still has not issued my refund even after two more phone calls with their customer service. They keep giving me lip service like "we're putting a priority order on this" and "we've got you flagged for immediate resolution" type crap, but still, where's my fucking money? Here we are over a month past the initial wrong order and I still have no refund.

This is unacceptable.

If either one of you companies reads this, get your fucking shit together and give me my money back. I will not be buying anything else from either of you....and I like to spend money. It will be going elsewhere unless you give me mine back immediately. Make this right.

Did you pay with a credit card? If so, contact them for assistance.
I did and I will.

I wanted to give the Extreme Terrain/Teraflex people a chance to get it right before I flat-out dispute it through the cc company. I'm not unreasonable. I know mistakes get made. But this one is simple. They sold me incorrect parts...twice. And I sent them back...twice. Just give me my fucking money back.

Customer service died with COVID
I don't necessarily agree with that....but interestingly enough every customer service rep I've talked to...about eight at this point...they've clearly been working from home. I hear babies crying and dogs barking in the background of these calls. Now, I don't care, these people are trying to be helpful and they're doing their job. But somewhere "in the system" things are getting fucked up and no one knows how to handle it.

Just give me my fucking money back.

sorry that you’ve had a bad experience by ordering from extreme-pain; thought I had stumbled onto reviews about them, few years back, and they didn’t seem that great.

As stated above, your credit card company helping them to fix their mistakes is why you don't pay cash.

That being said, I've had good experiences with both companies. They're people too and sometimes people have brain farts. LOL. good luck.

In my experience, Extreme Terrain has been sucking for awhile now. I stopped buying from them a few years ago.

And wasn't TeraFlex sold to 4 Wheel Parts? I remember reading something of the sort. 4 Wheel Parts are the masters of stupidity.

Hope you get things resolved.

Not to play devils advocate, but according to the description on teraflex's website the 2.5" kit is a front 2" spacer and a rear .5" spacer. Why on earth anyone would market a 2" leveling kit as a performance 2.5" kit is beyond me, but I think you got exactly what you ordered. Extreme terrains description errantly says it provides 2.5" of lift, but if you click on the what's in the box tab, it's a 2" front and .5" rear spacer.

No, the parts description that comes with the kit describes a 2" spacer and a small .5" spacer for the front, a .5" spacer for the rear.

What's in the Box

  • (1) Pair of 2-Inch Lift Front Coil Spring Spacers
  • (1) Pair of 0.50-Inch Lift Front Coil Spring Spacers
  • (1) Pair of 0.50-Inch Lift Rear Coil Spring Spacers
  • (1) Pair of 2-Inch Front Lower Bump Stop Strike Pad Extensions
  • (4) 0.50-Inch Rear Lower Bump Stop Strike Pad Extensions
  • (1) 11.50-Inch Front Sway Bar Link Kit
  • (1) 13-Inch Rear Sway Bar Link Kit
  • Installation Hardware
What they sent me - twice - was all that stuff above, except for the 2" coil spring spacer pucks, they sent 1" spacer pucks in the box. Twice.

Weird that they stack front spacers and the rear only gets a .5" ? Still more leveling kit than 2.5" lift in my opinion.

wow. i use ET alot (some for work) and have had to use their customer service twice (falcon products) and both times it was excellent and both times they made me whole. Both times it was a work vehicle, not my personal vehicle.

I hope they get this resolved for you, they have been stellar for me.

I see someone posted switch to northridge and ive had great customer service with them too.

4WP was bumpy, but they made me whole. Problem was my fault too and they still handled it.

Ive had good to great customer service experiences with these companies. Ive stopped using quadratec bc of their BS customer service.

I know this doesnt help your scenario, sharing for others to see only. Sucks this is being a headache.

I agree, on both. I knew it was more leveling than lifting. I'm not a hardcore off-roader. I think the .5" front spacers are more for "fine tuning" but who's gonna do all that? I just jammed the 2" + .5" both in there and off I go. They do lock together nicely and lock into the upper spring perch. No problems with fitment or anything.

But twice they sold me mistakes and they need to fix one of them.
