I can tell you, I paid a lot of attention to the front driveshaft and made sure it was well maintained since I knew that pole vault sized front driveshaft was spinning a million miles an hour below my feet.

Saw enough videos of Dodge Ram's getting the transfer case yeeted out from the front shaft failing at highway speed šŸ˜‚
I personally love that mine isn’t rotation unless I’m in 4wd, or 4hi auto in my case. My pinion angle is less than perfect in the front. Either my lift, I needed to choose between spring bow, caster, and pinion angle. Without swapping to a high pinion axle, compromises needed to be made.

Yea, I don't mind the existence of the FAD at all. I know some folks are concerned with it being a weak link (either the axle housing or shaft failing or the motor failing), but I'm driving a practically stock truck and I'm never in a precarious situation where a motor failing is going to ruin my day.

I think @Shibbyjeep is the only person I’m aware of that’s had a fad failure. I don’t think it’s common.
