Who else has the Wildpeak AT3W’s and how are they holding up after 5, 10, 20k miles?

I bought my JT Overland about three months ago and I just fell in love with it again… some minor mods the past few months (1.5” TF Leveling Kit) but I just got the 285/75’s put on and I’m speechless at how smooth and quiet these tires are, very impressed… some photos as well… before and after…

I had the AT3W on my FJ for over 40k miles and then had them on my JLUR for about 50K miles and they barely wore down. Took them offroading all the time and they do great in the snow. Just picked up a 22 JT Diesel Rubicon that has them but going to replace them with 37's AT3Ws.

Looks great. My Jeep came with 285/70s as stock and I really like them. I am very surprised how quiet they are and how well they work in the snow.

I just noticed you have locks on your wheels. I am guessing that the jeep came with them.

My strong advice to you is that unless you live in the Mattapan, you should should get rid of locks before you are struggling on the side of the road or trail trying to get the wheel off and the lock key is slipping.

Our wheels go on with 130 ft-lbs of torque. My old Volvo used 85 ft-lbs. Our lug nuts go on pretty tight.

Throw in a few years of New England corrosion and you have a prescription for a problem.

I only have about 4k miles on mine, but I find them to be a great all around tire. Great on the road and in the snow this winter. Very quiet and they look great. I haven't taken them offroad yet tho.

My JTR came with them. I have never had this tire before, and I dont have many miles yet but so far I like them a lot. They make the truck feel like it wanders a little probably due to the soft compound? But they are darn quiet compared to other tires I have had and I think they would do much better in rain/wet roads than the KO2's. I will be curious to see what others who have had them a while say.

I've only put 6k miles on my stock 285/70R17 AT3Ws so far. They make quite a bit of noise in corners, especially when going a little too fast (the joys of having a student driver in the household). Other than that, they are doing great and they were excellent in the snow this past winter. However, I just replaced them with a set of JL Rubicon take-off wheels/tires which are BFG KO2s, and the KO2s handle a little better on road and are quieter. I'll run the KO2s for the summer, then switch back to the AT3Ws for the winter.

Good call on ditching the wheel locks!

I swapped mine over to my old 93 YJ when I put 35 KO2's on my JTR. I am pleased as can be with how they handle, but wear after two years and 2K miles is nothing, so I don't have an opinion there. I'll be sad to toss them in four years with little to no wear, but they are super for the time being.

Seems a shame there are no load range C options for the Falkens in 35" sizes, but my KO2's are all that's ever going on the JTR anyway.

They are decent tires but got louder as they wore on my JKU. They also are pretty darn heavy, about 76lbs for a 35 and around 82lbs for a 37, not to bad but there are other tires out that are just as good or better that weigh less

Why can't I pick two options on the poll?

"These puppies are just like day one after 20,000 miles" and "I'll buy them again in a heartbeat" are both my votes. But I can't choose both ?
I have the maximum selectable responses set to “unlimited” but maybe there’s another option I should have selected… thanks for your feedback!

I agree on the weight and when researching I didn’t think it would be much of an issue overall, but I started noticing higher revving in low gears from a stop and less roll when taking foot off brake pedal when stopped (in an automatic). How much of a decrease, would you say, the weight of the tires has on reduced MPG’s?

Weight has a huge affect on MPG'S. A 63lb 35 compared to a 76lb 35 is going to make a noticable difference. How much depends on some other factors as well, but if 2 vehicles are stock, that extra 10 to 13 pounds is going be felt for sure
