The one and only feature I wish I had that I don't is Selec-Trac (automatic 4 wheel drive).
I've been casually checking dealer inventories within 300 miles from home, but it's a tedious process of loading my other preferred options and then taking a close look at the results one by one, because there is no check box for Selec-Trac on Jeep.com, Autotrader, or cars.com.

If anyone knows of a trick I may be missing I'd love to hear it.

I live in New England and I would have thought that dealers here would stock them.

Nope. Nobody within 100 miles had one. And nobody in the entire country had a Mojave in Hydro Blue with it.

So I ordered it with it. It was an absolutely must have. I wasn't going to buy a Jeep and have it be inferior in the snow to the Volvo sedan I was coming out of.

It's amazing to me that more dealers don't order it. At about $900 it's a bargain.

There's no check box but you can add it in their search line on top. When I was searching for a reign wrangler, the color wasn't an option. So I checked the boxes and typed reign in the top and it showed me over 200 Wranglers in reign. The safety packages were also not check boxes.
What I found - of the 200 results, none of the 3.6 powered Wranglers had Selec-Trac.
But it's standard with the 4xe.
So I suspect finding a JT with it is going to be tough. The just don't see the advantage, I guess.
I LOVE mine (JT) and it was a MUST for my wife (JLU) It's part of the reason I decided what the heck, go with 4xe as at least we'd get the Selec-Trac t-case that way.

So...not having select trac makes the JT crappy in snow? I haven't had any issues in snow once in 4WD and using general grabber AT tires...maybe I'm just used to driving in those conditions for years. If you can...school me on why it's better.

The wife had "full time 4 wheel drive' on her 2018 4Runner. When she got her 2022 Wrangler she now has the regular 4 wheel drive through engagement of the select lever, She is on it like white on rice whenever she feels she needs it (even on the fly). Not even missed it (however we do live in southern New Mexico) and haven't needed 4 wheel drive on these roads.

Driving on winter roads with spots of ice and snow it is great, we use it in heavy rain also, in deep show it is not better than standard 4WD. Driving around a curve hitting some snow , you might be grabbing your steering wheel instead of the 4WD lever on floor. The dealers probably don't order it cause they flat out don't realize how neat it is and they are trying to keep the prices as low as possible. There are people here who traded in their Gladiators for selectrac, I knew it was coming and wife has it on her 2019 Sahara so I waited on a 2021 Mojave so I could order it.
It's real nice but perhaps not enough to trade your truck in......Jack

Stop telling people it's amazing and giving them regrets...
It's an OK feature.. It's so OK that I had went through the hassle & wait of having the dealer re-order my 23' Mojave with it.. ; ).

I found the same things - no easy way to search for one in stock with Selec-Trac, and not very many on lots with Selec-Trac. I ended up ordering mine and Selec-Trac was a $695 option at the time.

Selec-Trac allows the front & rear driveshafts to spin at different speeds, acting like a center differential. 4H Part-Time locks the front & rear together, forcing them to turn at the same speed, which makes cornering on slick surfaces more difficult.

I wouldn't say the JT is crappy in the snow. The full time 4wd option is just another level up on an already great truck. Now my TJ - my 06 TJ is 'crappy' in the snow comparatively. Even though, not really that bad. in my unpopular opinion, people just drive far too fast and are always in a massive hurry to get places. IMO that's why AWD systems are spoken so highly about - because you can continue to drive unnecessarily fast with less car/worry than you can with a standard 4wd. I do wish my JT had one, but I wouldn't trade in for an order just to get one. Maybe if there was an exact replica on the lot - but then I'd have to transfer over ALLLL the work I already have done and still take a negative hit on trade-in value

I've driven the JT in snow/ice plenty of times now - only on road nothing off highway yet. It feels planted and fine - but I also go slow, and dont zip around at 70 during a snow storm on existing ice like 99% of the truckers do around here anymore.

But the full time system is a series of clutches instead of gears like the standard 4wd. I did dig into it some and found out the clutch pack, when forced into 4wd or 4L, clamps down at some amazing force that can handle over 800 lb-ft of torque if I remember right. So it is actually a lot stronger than the standard 4wd transfer case - what amazes me is it's not more than 900 bucks to add.... Plus you get a CV style (I dont think they are actually the standard CV) joints up front which helps reduce the unequal grab of a 4wd and is a lot stronger. But I wouldn't ever go so far as to say the standard 4wd 'sucks' in snow.

Where we live, when we do get snow or ice, it's not always a full time icy road drive. There will be parts of the roads that were shaded the day before and they'll be icy, while the rest of the road may be clean asphalt.
Having a vehicle that automatically engages additional drive wheels as needed would be a very nice option.

Like others have said, it also can help when encountering standing water with our big floaty tires.

U really don't get it or haven't read the year's worth of posts on the topic. I have general tires and do great in pure snow and unplowed roads but it's PART TIME so when you hit half a mile of dry road you shift then oops a drift coming uo shift again and so on and end up shifting 10 times in 6 miles. Or its a nice night with dry roads mostly and then you find the wind has blown the light snow across and there's slick spots or like saturday freezing rain made sections slick. Do some reading on the topic in several threads. Here you have to keep shifting the t-case due to constantly changing road conditions several times a mile. Put it in 4H auto if the roads or weather are iffy. Especially for a 65 year old handicap woman who can't mess with constantly shifting a stiff transfer case in changing dangerous raod conditions.
