72k.....

Lol
Have you walked around dealer lots lately? MSRP is way up there lately. Heck, we looked at a fully loaded JLU Rubicon that had a sticker of 79 (we passed, of course)
A JT Overland fairly well optioned is well over 62K by now (it was 62 when I ordered last summer) so a Rubicon at 70+ is no shock.
Of course we're talking sticker prices. Some are higher, and some dealers will deal.
Local dealer didn't even push back hard when insisted on full perfect NADA price for our Grand Cherokee. They weren't far off private sale price. My son got a really good price for his Compass when he traded it - he said that if he had sat still longer, he's sure they'd have gone higher in their offer.
It's 2023, eggs $4/dozen, milk is crazy, interest rates soaring - except for your bank account. Pennies, there.
Sales guy said they have no trouble moving pretty much everything at full MSRP.

Okay so what does it do exactly ? I notice while in 4-low that the wheels don't jerk like it does in High as bad or at all.
The rubicon transfer case is 4:1 in low range and 1:1 in high range.
When you get the rubicon with "auto" or full time 4wd, they call it Full time RocTrack.

Everything else gets a transfer case with a 2.6:1 low range and 1:1 in high range.
When you get them with "auto" or full time 4wd, they are called Selectrac.

So in other words, selectrac and full time RockTrac are the same thing. An auto 4wd system, except that full time RockTrac has a lower low range and is available only on the Rubicon.

Kind of like my Mojave has 'Sand Sliders'...according to Jeep. Literally the Rubicon rock sliders.

The only actual difference between Rock Trac and Command Trac is the gearset. Marketing nonsense. Select Trac 4A and Rock Trac 4A = the gearset.
Sand Sliders.. sounds like a dry burger..

I have found that my knee has inadvertently shifted the vehicle from the 4 Auto position to 4 part-time..... does not make much effort, I suspect it happened when I got in.. only learned of it when I was on a dry hwy.. hit the nearest exit ramp. wish there was a bit more resistance..

Do you guys notice any difference in MPGS running around in 4H Auto vs 2H?
Definitely. In the Rubicon I lose approximately 1-2 mpg in 4H Auto. So I definitely switch back to 2H when the roads are mostly dry and its non-advantageous. I also like to switch into 4H Auto when its wet or on gravel to lube/exercise the front drive hub/system about once a month. I don't know if that's necessary with the new systems, but I was taught to do it on my old CJ-7 and older 4wd systems. I don't get much snow here in SC, but I had the fulltime 4wd on my 97' Grand Cherokee while living in Alaska and it was amazing good.

I haven't noticed more than a few tenths maybe, if even that.
I get about 16 with the plow on, about 17 with it off and in 4H auto, maybe 17.5 in 2H but it varies a lot anyway depending on wind and air temperatures. It's almost always windy in the winter here and that makes the bigger diff. Can't say there's much "running around in 4H auto" - it's in 4HA when the roads are iffy, otherwise when everything is cleared up, it's back in 2H. So it might be in 4HA for a trip or two, maybe for that day at the most. If I go out and see the roads are all cleared and there's no ice or drifting, I go back to 2H and leave it. It's not where I have it in 4H auto for a week.

Bumping this to note you can NO LONGER GET Selec Trac or Rock Trac full time 4WD EXCEPT in X Mojaves and Rubicons where it is standard. Period, no orders, zip.

I got my 23 Freedom Edition on December 27th 2023 at 30% off with Selec Trac 4WD. It is a requirement for me due to where I live in MT where our shoulder seasons for winter in particular are a mile of snow and a mile of clear road for like a total of six weeks to two months. I had Rams with and without. LSD is pretty much a minimum...and...MOST Gladiators are sold with the basic 4WD which works but is a PITA for daily driving up here.

It's very interesting to see the "auto 4WD" go from a touted product when it first came out in Gladiators to now and over the last couple years being virtually ignored. You could NOT built it on the Build website and a dealer had to do it for you...

I got very lucky in that I found a dealer within my 500 mile range for buying who said he ordered as many of those as he could get as it was an inexpensive $695 option and he knew how to sell it as different than most and was on his personal checklist for owning and it was valuable for the NW United States and our weather roads. He was in Tri Cities Washington.

So, I hope they bring it back as an option with the NEW management. I assume like the other XE versions of Jeeps those will have it along with the X versions, but for regular people it is a great safety option if you have snow ice and rain. I'd rather spend 695 on Selec Trac than 595 for that stupid wireless speaker hidden behind the back seat.

I/we made note of this last winter when I (and others) were looking at the '24 models, that it was no longer an option other than the X models.
When I bought my 2022, the sales guy just automatically said "knowing you, you'll want this" and I told him it was one of the main reasons I was trading my 2020 at all.

I was able to select it on JTs i was messing around building on the consumer build and price site - until i found you could not for the 2024 models. Otherwise, I didn't have any problem dropping it in as an option playing around, especially when the '23 model prices took a deep dive. So not sure what you were seeing, but i guess I didn't have a problem.
What I have found is that if i take the MSRP of the 2022 I have now, and build a Mojave X like I want it - I'm only about 2 or 3K different. That means that for me, at least, prices haven't gone up. My 2022, if I added the standard x steel bumper, the power seats, and other Mojave X stuff to the MSRP of my current 2022 Overland, I'd be looking at something in the upper 60s if not 70K
That means for me, I can get as much stuff, plus in a Mojave, for no more money than I was looking at in 2022. So much for drastic price increases - it's almost a wash for me if I went 22 Overland to 25 Mojave X price-wise.

I think 23 was the "peak" of pricing under Taveres at Stellantis.

My 23 Freedom Edition with Selec Trac and LSD was right at 61K MSRP. I got it for 43K and change so very good deal. But in 24, they actually reduced pricing and right now at my dealership or as of a week ago they now appear sold were 24 Willy's packages with everything I had except selec trac for 44K (including that extra 1K they throw at you online if you go shop) and they didn't have 30% off... It was MSRP'd at 58 and change... So, for 24, you were getting more Gladiator for less money out of the box. Here's the window sticker https://www.jeep.com/hostd/windowst...995017&tcdcmpid=2154499&vin=1C6HJTAG2RL103176

Stellantis wold have charged 68K a year earlier OK maybe slight exageration... but it was still overpriced compared to let's say a Colorado ZR2 not a not incapable vehicle.

Now, let's get selec trac back...

Well this sucks shit. I'm pissed now.
I ordered on the basis of the 2024 X package having literally everything my 2022 has and then some - including SelecTrac.
For 2025 - I can see how they lowered prices - by stripping the shit out of the X package and taking the SelecTrac out.

I really really wish I had known this before ordering - if it's possible, I may just cancel my damned order.
I traded my 2020 because the 2022 had SelecTrac.
I looked at the 2024 X packages - because they had the Selectrac.
I was stupid as crap and ASSUMED a 2025 would be the same - WRONG.
No more SelecTrac.
Now I'm pissed - in part at me because I didn't DIG, I ASSUMED, and at our dealer because he knew bloody well why I traded my 20 for a 22, and why we bought my wife's JLU - SelecTrac.

I've checked several window stickers for both 2024 and 2025 X packages.
The 2024s have it - the 2025s do NOT have it.
Now I understand the price drop.
It was not a price drop - they stripped the damn thing down to make it cheaper.

I'm pissed - and my wife has asked "can you cancel the order"?

It's a huge step backwards. My wife drives this thing now and then and SelecTrac is a must have for her - and for my use.

Will be very interesting to see what the dealer says.
My wife also asks "well, you can add that later, can't you"?

Uh, no. And if it was possible, it would involve voiding the whole drivetrain warranty and cost thousands.

I'm so glad I have not yet begun the process of stripping anything at all off of mine, even the simple things like the ladder and cabin cubbies.
