There’s a dealer in Glenwood Springs, CO, Grand Junction, CO and St George, UT.

Can you do a parked regen on these?
I’ve been calling down to Vegas. No luck. Holiday weekend is killing me, and it seems EcoDiesel techs all take long holidays.

if I make it past Vegas, I’ll just keep rolling. Hopefully, a dealer near San Diego can take a look after the holiday.

Still heading across 70? Through Vegas? Call in advance to the Jeep dealers along the way. You never know who might be able to do it and fix the problem.
I’ve called all I could find today. I’ll try that tactic exactly — call when I’m 30 minutes out tomorrow and see if I get lucky.

Happened to me on a long trip with a trailer. You can most likely continue on as I did but no boost as the waste gate stays open in limp mode. There were no dealerships willing to squeeze me in as well. Took it to dealer when I got home. They cleared code and blew smoke up my ... They didn't know what it was.

Definitely check out the wiring harness by the exhaust issue threads on this forum.

I bought the Autel MK808BT and that thing paid for itself day one. It allowed me to clear the code myself and I did use it probably 6 more times taking trips from IA to AZ and back. It was pricey but in it a very powerful scanner with 2 way communication to the vehicles. I am learning new things all the time about it. I take this scanner every time I take a trip outside the city or wheeling... every time

I’m definitely feeling the lack of boost. And I’ll add a serious scanner to the tool kit. Had one for my previous ride, but I thought I wouldn’t need it for the new Jeep. Live and learn, indeed.

As good if not better than the scanner. You need a security bypass cable and a Bluetooth obdII dongle but reads codes, clears them, forces regent and many other things.

Won't do much good right now cause you will have a hard time getting the bypass cable or dongle, once you have them they can just live in the jeep.

I was also told it was in a wiring harness that was getting too hot. I don't know if this is the case but I know I was able to clear codes twice and keep rolling and out of limp mode.

Did the dealer fix that, or is it something I can check on at roadside?

I haven’t done anything with mine yet. Only got the exhaust/stability warning twice during a 3k miles trip. Both times after 10+hrs driving 75 mph across Texas in July. I don’t see why you couldn’t wrap it roadside or in a parking lot with some heat shield wrap. That’s what I intend to do. If that is indeed the source of the problem. It sure couldn’t hurt. Several here say that is the problem

@John in the Woods fyi, forced regens did not help at all in my case. One of the times I did one, I was back in limp mode 20 mins later.

I have this setup when it comes to JSCAN:
Bluetooth OBD dongle:
Vgate vLinker MC+ Bluetooth OBD2 Car Diagnostic Scan Tool for iOS, Android & Windows https://a.co/d/dLQsvIH

Security bypass cable (if you don’t have a taser):
TTXSPP Cable Adaptor for Chrysler 12+8 Programming Cable Connector for Autel DS808 Maxisys Main Test Cable for Autel DS808 Maxisys MS905 MS906 MS906BT MS906S MS908 MS908S Pro https://a.co/d/dIpPWqK

Download the OBD JSCAN app from App Store and you’ll have a pretty good tool to get you going under $100

Hope you make it there to see your Buddy, that's priority One.

While there, with luck, you'll get the JT sorted out.

This happened to me, and fortunately I was just a couple of miles from my dealer and they were able to fit me in.

In my case the tech triangulated to otherwise unrelated codes it was throwing, and determined it was not getting enough air to do a regen. changed the air filter (even though I've had it replaced according to spec, I recently did the AZ Peace trail, so it probably sucked in too much dust).

When he turned it back on after the filter change, it immediately went into a regen, and I was fine after that.

I recommend getting a Scangauge from an auto part store if possible to check on the current condition of soot level.

Limped from Denver to Vegas yesterday. There was a lot of playing with the gears to find that 2-2.5K rpm sweet spot, and a few extended climbs up to high passes with the flashers in at 38 mph, but it made it. No change in alerts of behavior, but I've figured out the way to nurse it along. I guess a lot of us have done that.

I'm headed out from Vegas to Oceanside California in an hour or so. Shortest leg of the drive, so it should an easy Sunday crawl. Once I'm there, I'll set up a Jscan and see if I can clear it. If not, I'll find a dealer in the area and get things sorted out.

Too bad so much energy had to be focused on managing the limp, because it was some of the most breathtaking scenery I've ever witnessed in my life. The size and scale of it all! Blows this East Coast boy's mind every time.
