I would like to know if anyone else out there has encountered this malfunction.
New Gladiator Overland, less than 300 miles.
Flashing engine light to steady on. Serviced first time: Multiple Misfire detected, 1-2 counts cyl 1 and 5. Performed cleaning all 4 cam shafts by dealership.
Drove for several days then: Flashing check engine light and sputtering engine. Light turns off without intervention after several minutes. This happens twice. Receive a yellow warning from Uconnect app. Take it back to the dealership, however diagnostic does not reveal any code and they claim the cannot find anything wrong.
Happens for a third time. Flashing engine light and sputtering engine. Will be dropping off again tonight for third diagnostic.

Not a fuel quality issue.

I've owned jeep vehicles since 1997. This will likely be my last. Brand new off the lot with a $60,000 price tag with a check engine light that has tripped 4 times in the last month.

First post, misfire and mentioned priced paid. Checked all the boxes on that one.

Just search here or google for Gladiator or Wrangler misfire and there is more than a few epic threads discussing a myriad of things that can be wrong.

No magic bullet here.

While it's still early in the process with no indication it won't be fixed, I would make sure I was familiar with your state's lemon laws.

Not that early, but had mine just short of 6k with similar issues. Local Autozone showed 3 codes (misfire, o2 sensor heater, and something else). Dealership plug-in showed a page worth of codes and issues. 4 O2 sensors and 2 catalytic converters later, we're good to go. My guess is the issue is somewhere in that realm.

Got op beat! CEL at 130 miles!!! ? Dealer diagnosed bad cam phasers, reset codes and sent me on my way. Just hit 1300 miles and the CEL came on briefly, UConnect flagged the warning - heads to the shop on Friday! Seems like op should grab a screenshot of the error from UConnect for evidence…

How are your Jeeps doing now? My check engine light came on within the first month of ownership. :( in a loaner car now as I wait. (3rd time back now). Hoping it get's 100% fixed whatever the issue is.

Unfortunately the engine light issue for my gladiator was never solved. I began the buy back process through FCA, which has gone much better than I anticipated. In fact, FCA/Jeep has been very accountable, enough that I was confident in ordering another Gladiator.

So had this first happen around 5k miles and the engine shook and check engine light came on and through a P0300 code. Had it cleared and then it did it 2 more times over the last few months. Got the PCB in the mail right as I had an oil change scheduled. They did the PCM flash update and last night did it again. Calling the dealership today to see if I can drop it off. Really like this truck and super annoyed right now. Mine is a 22 gladiator which I got in March. I sure hope this can be figured out.

How long did you own the gladiator or how long before they decided they couldn’t fix the issue that the buy back process was started. Are they giving you what you paid for the vehicle or what is left to owe on it? Just curious what all this entails.

I took delivery on an ordered unit in early June. It’s happened to me twice. The first time, I took it to dealer on the next day and no codes were stored. The second time, I got a rough idle pulling out into rush hour traffic and took it to the dealer without stopping. The rough idle passed, but they were able to pull that code. Dealer had it for a couple days, but couldn’t recreate the code. Dealer contacted STAR, and told me they were recommended to change the oil, but nothing found. I presume it was a metal fragment inspection, but that doesn’t make sense to me. I asked if they should flash the systems, but told that wasn’t authorized and I should monitor it and bring it back if it reoccurs. I’m something of a former hobbyists mechanic and really don’t appreciate the lack of determination to get to the bottom of this by FCA. So, I’ve made no decisions yet, but I’ll be monitoring and weighing my options. I’ll note that Jeep coincidently called me for a new vehicle survey and I use that to open a line of communication on this matter.

Just a thought, those old Jeeps didn't have the self-management features that late models do. I'm sure the 300k mile XJ I learned to drive on had plenty of sporadic misfires that didn't show up on the 'dumb' systems of the time. For consolation, personal computers are incredible machines, but software breaks and systems crash for reasons that will never be known. Corporate sys-admins will admit that there are issues the manufacturers can't figure out, with complexity comes complexity.

Glad to see you had a good experience with Jeep and felt confident to buy another. We expect things to break or go wrong with any brand, the difference is how the company shows up and handles the situation.
