I taker delivery of my new 2022 Mojave 6-speed I Gobi I'm a week. Working on putting together a parts list so that we can flat tow behind our motorhome. I don't want to mess with the factories get plate I'm looking for either a bolt-on bumper or tow loops that will go on without having to modify. I'd like to use the d-rings and I'm looking at the Arcus or a Rock Hard aluminum bumper. The rock hard is obviously rated for towing and RR tells me I can tow with the d-rings but it's not weight rated. Can anyone running an Arcus verify that they've been using the d-rings and having no troubles? I see some are running the Maximus-3 tow loops with the arcus but I don't want to cut the skid plate. Thank you in advance and I look forward to learning from this group!

In-laws went with LOD bumper- rated for towing. (Same concept- towing from the d-ring connections) Genright is another company that uses this practice.

Biggest headache was the brake system to legally tow in many states. They finally settled on invisibrake…. ? took it directly to the manufacturer and still took a full day to install!
(Very nice system though. Zero brake concern now!)

Thanks! I'll take a closer look at those. I plan to use the RVI3 brake system and their Bluetooth module for emergency disconnect. Very little in the way of wiring to make that work. I believe there's an adapter on Amazon to plug in so that it will trickle charge the battery. No cutting wires if I can avoid it!

Mopar offers a flat tow setup on the Wrangler now. Since the front end is the same, I think it would fit. Maybe @AllMoparParts.com can help you out? It's $775 if you order a JL with it. But after sale, I don't know the pricing.

I put a plug & play wiring setup <$100 that is isolated from vehicle electric with built in diodes to connect brake & turn signals from Curt. No cutting, works great. I also have the RVI3 braKe controller w/ wireless, also works great, you need the 12 volt cigarette lighter kit to run from battery to driver side because Gladiator‘s included socket is not live all the time. There haVe been issues with the Maximus loops putting too much strain on the frame horns. I used the Roadmaster base plate setup, which you do need to cut front skid plate.

Is that for the entire set-up (connection points, brakes, lights,) or just for the light wiring harness?

I went with the Maximus-3 tow loops (very little cutting of the skid plate involved, more on the bumper, but it ends up being very inconspicuous,) and a Brake Buddy (I didn't want to hook anything to the brake pedal.)

If you look at the failure instances, they appear to be from lack of proper braking in the toad, as the tow loops have attempted to spread. I've had zero trouble with mine.
And Maximus has a bar that will help alleviate any failures.

I have a 10,000 lb Blue Ox tow bar, Patriot Brake system with remote, safety cables, accessory kit, stone guard, and the bumper adapter kit for a 7/8" shackle for sale. $1,500 for everything. Over $3,300 if bought new. We used this towing our Grand Cherokee behind our 41ft Discovery. No longer have the motorhome.

That is for a wiring harness. I know after 2013. Jeep Grand Cherokees needed a wiring harness installed to be flat towed because of the electric power steering pump. Wonder if the same applies with the JT. My 2013 didn't need the harness

We just finished a 5800 mile trip towing our JTR behind our truck/slide-in camper combo. For flat towing: Rock Hard Patriot aluminum bumper, Roadmaster tow bar, Brake Buddy supplemental brake system, and Curt wiring harness. This configuration worked well, we had no issues at all. It is easy to use, easy to connect/disconnect, and the Brake Buddy provides proportional braking. We're very satisfied with it.

We use the Rockhard aluminum bumper, Roadmaster and the Demco system. For lights we used the Curt harness. Works great and hookups. Are easy.
