This may sound like a silly topic, but read on, it gets better. I got my Gladiator Willys on 12/24/23. The fog lights haven't worked at all. Yesterday was my first oil change (1000 miles), and I asked the dealer (I get free oil changes for as long as I own it) to look into the fog lights. This is where it gets amusing.

They said they checked for codes and there are none, so there's nothing they can do. WTF? Seriously? They can't fix my fog lights because there's no code. Interesting.

They offered to make a separate appointment to "try again," but as I'm not a fan of having to wait or arrange rides, I'll just wait til the next oil change.

I looked to see if maybe there was a fuse out, but I couldn't find a fog light specific fuse in the fusebox under the hood. I tried to see if anything was disconnected, but couldn't find the connectors, so I figured screw it, new vehicle, let the dealer fix it. Now I'm wondering if they actually can. :)

Find another dealership going forward if they are that incompetent to just be code monkey's.

I would probably would have lost it if that shit was pulled on me.

Thanks!! You guys are great.

So... the connector is plugged in. I checked the two fuses and they're good. When I push the fog light button on the headlight switch, the little fog light indicator in the tach lights up. So that suggests the switch is good.

Therefore... I'm guessing either a bad relay or a bad wiring harness between the switch and the lights.

You are going to need to get under the dash on the drivers side and have to get access to the body control module and check for voltage coming into it and voltage coming out using a multimeter.

There is four 12vdc voltage inputs I would verify are there at C3/C. Then I would check for voltage at the bumper connector on the frame side. If no voltage at the bumper connector, I would ring out those wires to the BCM. If that all checks good, probably got a bad BCM.

Wow, great suggestions, thank you. As it is winter here, cold, windy, potential snow, I'm going to let the dealer have another go at it before I do that. Kinda defeats the purpose of having a new vehicle with a warranty. If it was my WJ, it'd be different...

It is not a hard circuit to figure out without "codes" .

I agree the dealership needs to figure it and stop being stupid about the code thing.

You are pressing the fog light button and not the rear bed lights button? The center of the knob is split into two separate buttons. The fog indicator is green and the bed indicator is orange.

IDIOT ALERT! IDIOT ALERT! Original Poster is an Idiot!

So.... it never occurred to me that the top part of that button was press-able. I thought it was just the graphic advertising that it was the headlight button. So I never tried to press it. It also never occurred to me that they'd include an icon for the stupid bed lights.

Now... I also find it interesting that the dealer yesterday didn't actually try the fog lights... apparently all they did was code-scan and nothing more.

Sigh. Well, at least that answers that question. Clearly, I'm an idiot.

Thanks for your help! :)

Just to be clear. You had an appointment for an oil change and can’t figure out why the dealer wouldn’t diagnose and fix another issue that you didn’t have an appointment for? Maybe I’m misreading something?

The dealer told him they couldn't diagnose why the fog lights were not working because there were no error codes showing in the computer for the problem.

If ever there's a good reason to bump an old thread, this is it.

I'm a grown azz man that can laugh at himself. Yes, I was getting frustrated because I couldn't TS why my fogs weren't opperable anymore......until I did a search....and here I am.

I pushed the right button and got my fogs back. And now I know how to turn the bed lights one whenever, if ever I need to do that.

Good news is that in this chaos I do now have brake hold.....finally. Taser Mini for the win (although, man, so much better back in the day with tuners....) :like:
