Yesterday, my wife saw (on this forum) a picture of the upcoming JTU and said, "....I would drive one of those..."

I nearly fainted from happiness/bliss

My JT would be a daily driver and off roader once or twice a month or so. Getting back into the Jeep life, having a pickup bed is nice to haul those things you don't want to put in the cab. Need a towing capability of at least 5000#. Seats 4, daily drivable, off roader... and can function like a truck....

DD w/ light ‘truck’ and off-road duties.

Oh, and it’ll be on 37’s too.

Rubicon. Daily Driver (eventually on 35's or 37's), trail running and mud (but nothing major as I won't have money leftover to repair trail damage) and family camping. I wonder if 3 car seats will fit in the back seat? If not, I'll have to find a TJ back seat and bolt it into the bed for the wife.

I too will be using it as an Overland vehicle down here in Australia. I have had Wranglers all my life, and am currently in an 09 JKU...but it has evolved from an offroad beast to a more docile overlander carrying my 3 kids, my wife and our dog while towing our custom made off road camper trailer every chance we get.
I have to admit I have been looking at getting a Defender 130, it pulls better (fuc&%g 3.8) and has the space for the unbelievable amount of stuff I need for a week off grid with 3 kids. I have been waiting on the JT to see if it was up to task, and now it seems I will have to wait another year or two until it hits the southern hemisphere...hopefully without the other downgrades the JL is suffering in this market.
Unfortunately here in Aus we are restricted by geniuses in office that prohibit anything larger than 33" tires on most rigs...based on no actual science; but the cops love the income.

This past year I got into Kayaking quite a bit, even put roof rails on my Mini Cooper Clubman to tote it to the water. Well one of the main places I take my kayak is Uwaharrie National Forest and paddle Badin Lake. It's just gravel roads but there are some potholes here and there and it is sorta stressful taking that low of a car on gravel roads. Sooooo the pickup will be for sure getting a bed mounted rack (that I hope I can connect to a roof mounted rack) that will tote said kayak. Also UNF has a rifle range, so I can take the rifles out there on said gravel roads and not have to worry. Now I do have a Countryman ALL4 but that has no roof rack, and I was planning on one but not anymore. It will be traded in towards the pickup, which is good. Cause I have been wanting a camper and that Countryman will only tow 2500 pounds.

So long story short.... use it to tote my kayak to the water at UNF, head to the rifle range at UNF, take some trails as well while at UNF, and get a camper so I can start camping again. Oh and take it on fire roads here on Bragg, and maybe do some trails in other various places around here. Tow rating is also a plus, I can use it cause the tow rating is so high, I can buy project cars and tow them home now, or if I need truck parts for the C10 I am restoring I can load it in the bed, or on a small trailer. This thing might actually be the perfect vehicle. It's a Jeep so it will have great off-road capability, that legendary reliability and that name, and it will have the added benefit of being a truck at the same time. I cannot wait for December!

And I will be WAVING!

Rubicon. Daily Driver / Work Truck but perfect combo of that and toy. Work at a place where the yard is a rough place for my inexplicably low Silverado Z71 that you'd have to lift a mile to clear the square wheel wells. Enough bed for general purposes and to throw a deer into and capable enough to get into the places I go to hunt them. Enough towing for a fishing boat. I like a touch of gingerbread, leather seats, good radio, etc., but you haven't been able to have gingerbread and a manual transmission for a while now. I miss shifting gears. All that and everything cool about a Jeep to play around with.

And you can take the roof and doors off! I've been waiting for this vehicle my whole life. Just perfect (well, bigger engine would be nice, but I'll get by).

Been waiting 3 years to buy a new midsize truck. I am definitely in the Goldilocks category of truck buyer.
1. Daily driver so need comfort, decent fuel economy, safety and technology features.
2. Weekend parts runner so I need midsize dimensions and storage.
3. Family trip and datenite vehicle. Rear passenger comfort and convienance such as rear AC vents and storage.
4. Bird, duck, and deer hunting so need cargo room in bed for wet decoys and muddy gear, and flat storage are in backseat for dog box.
5. Fishing/Towing. Room in bed for gear and stinky bait. Able to tow 3500 lb boat (includes boat, motor, trailer).
6. Off-road ability to handle ranch trails and beach roads.
7. Affordability. Praying a JT Sport or Overlander comes in under 40k after negotiations (not counting taxes) otherwise I’ll be in a new Ranger.

Hey JeepGuy, I told my wife the same thing. I get out of the hospital in two more weeks!
Hospital is fine. It's when wife arguments end with a lawyer that you know things are bad.
