Front Bumper Replacement

@Sladecm - How did the install of this bumper go? Pretty close to pulling the trigger on it. Did you swap the stainless hardware? Pics?

I don’t have my Jeep yet. I cancelled my first order and ordered a new one. I’ll pick it up two weeks from tomorrow and let you know.

I’m waiting for the AEV front bumper. New boron steel product will be over 20lbs lighter and AEV really does a great job integrating functionality with good design.

When ordering my Gladiator, I’d thought about the Mopar Steel Bumper option ($695)...but I also had to order LED Light option too ($995)! Almost $1,700 to get a bumper I was “ok” with...and LED lights that I feel are way overpriced. Plus I already have rear LED taillights (cones with Tow Pkg).

Ordering the Mopar Steel Bumper separately via Dealer Parts Dept is $995.

Who at Jeep thought packaging the steel bumper with LED headlights was a good idea? Probably the same person that jacked up the same steel bumper price $300 via Jeep Parts Dept.

And the steel bumper has no grille protection! Not to mention the steel bumper risks delaying my Gladiator order...

For a bit more, with AEV, I’ll get a bumper that’s lighter, better designed, with removable ends, AND grille protection.

2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. Plastic Bumper, Replaced with a steel bumper From Fab Four Lifestyle. Dropped the plastic bumper, dropped the skid plate, loosened all the bumper mounting hardware, and installed the new bumper. Once I got all the bumper mounted hardware loosed up, I was able to mount the new bumper. Went to install the skid plate and there was no way it was going to mount back in the original configuration. In looking back at pictures I noticed the skid plate was not there. This was a pricey front bumper replacement and I just dont see why they didnt tell anyone that you could not replace the front skid plate. Just to let everyone know, if you replace a stock bumper with a Fab Four Lifestyle, don't be surprised like I was.

I saved about $500 and bought an 'open box' bumper from Extreme Terrain. It came via UPS Freight and was not boxed or wrapped in plastic. Just had some scuffs and also had the bullbar and everything needed to install (including the D-ring shackles and winch plate). It is slightly bent. The left side of the bumper goes under the fender about an inch more than the other side but I don't care, I like it. It weighs about 80lbs. I had a similar bumper (Rampage Recovery front bumper) on my '14 JK Willys Wheeler but the bullbar on it was welded on. (Also I used zipties to mount the fog lights which were the Overland fog lights since I have the body color fender/AT tire package that uses the Overland bumper.)

Warn bumper with Quadratec winch. Had to work on mounts for Warn skid plate to fit.

I think that this bumper with these fog lights would sell like hot cakes. It’s just killer looks.
