Update from Titan, tank did not fit. They will work up another option but no time line on that. :(

40 gal aux is huge imo; I would be very happy with another 18 gal fit into the spare tire space, even 15 gal if that was all that would fit without exhaust mods.

A 15 gallon in the spare location would be pretty cool. Would just about double your range. I can’t think of anywhere in the US that you’d be more than 500~600 miles from civilization.
Even towing, you’d then have a range of at least 350miles (rough calcs at 10ish mpg)

Ya I'm with you guys, 30-35 gal total is like the magic number for this size rig.

We'll see what they come up with.

When I bought it, I didn't know that it had an 18ga tank until after the fact. Boy, did I start questioning my decision!

After 6mths of ownership I can honestly say that it all turned out to be much better than I thought it would be. I'm not filling as often as I thought I would and in truth even though I immediately started looking for a bigger tank (since I tow) I haven't even had that thought enter my mind again until I just saw this post.

I just averaged 28mpg on the computer on a 3hr highway trip. That's the best I've ever done. Usually I'm around 24-ish, but I live in the foothills where there's not a stretch of level ground to be found.

I fill up when I have about 30 miles of range and the majority of the time I am able to fill 17.8 gallons and today it was 18.5 gallons. So I have a hard time believing the tank is only 18 gallons.

Real world numbers are 22 MPG x 17 gallons per fillup = 374 mile range per all the user data on Fuelly.

Not horrible but definitely not great either.

When I know I am heading out for a long trip without fuel stops, I will take the time to "RIM" the tank with fuel. I can usually get 3-4 more gallons in after the pump automatically stops. It is a slow process letting the foam settle down. But I usually get around 100 miles before the gauge drops off full. I make this a habit and have not had any issues. My range is often over 500 miles per tank.

I would gladly sacrifice an under-bed spare tire to have more fuel capacity. I wish somebody would work on that. Would be sweet if it could be set up to transfer fuel to the main tank with an electric pump via an Aux switch in the cab. That way the fuel gauge would remain accurate, and you wouldn't have to stop and get out to use the extra fuel.

Anyone thought about modding the tank to relocate the vent higher like we used to do in the 3rd gen Dodge's? I know there is at least 2 gals available "extra" space because I rolled into a fuel station on fumes one time and put 20.9 gals in my truck!

Have to take a look at the tank profile and filler hose I guess.....

Does that Titan tank work with a tonneau cover? Has anyone done an install with a transfer pump?

I wish my Silverado would have gotten me as far as what you guys are talking about wanting these to go. Towing my car hauler I got 11 mpg and I made sure I kept track of stations. I made it into IL but always filled up this side of the river because of the prices over there.
