Went through the car wash today. I've been through it 3-4x a week for 3 years in my KL never had an issue.
Today i left the wash first time in the JT and my fuel door was wide open. I can only guess the wash opened it somehow.

Is there such thing as a locking cover? Or any ideas how to make sure it stays closed? I mean velcro could work, but then it would be very difficult to open. magnets perhaps?

has anyone else had this happen?

In almost 5 years of JT production, this is probably the first time I have seen someone make a complaint like this. I doubt this is an endemic reoccurring issue.

Unless you can readily repeat it organically, I would treat it as a one off.

It happens every time I use touchless automatics. The pressure is just enough to push the cover in. No big deal.

I wash my 2022 JTW about 3 times a month and the fuel door has never opened yet. First time I have heard about this issue.

What's wild to me is, you push the fuel door and it makes the little click then opens. However, the door does NOT click or lock closed. With the fuel door closed, you can open it with your fingers without depressing the door to activate the little click and open. Grab the right side of your fuel door with the end of your finger, where it meets the bed, and you can open it freely without a click. It's just a door that covers the gas cap/fill area and could open and flail in the wind. This is a small thing but it bothers me. I'd bet a jet spray or an air blast in the car wash hit your fuel door just right and it opened.

Jeep Engineering Dept! Why doesn't the fuel door actually click shut in place?!?!?

Arghhh! I feel your pain

The first few months I had the Gladiator, it was common for the fuel door to pop open going through a car wash. I no longer go through car washes due to mods making it not a good idea.

Mine doesn't do that, it clicks open and clicks shut. You probably actived the automatic click-clean-out mode.
