Are there any manufacturers making upgraded fuel filter caps?(yes I googled with no luck) I hate the plastic trash that come from the factory. I don’t want to have to buy an entire new aftermarket system, just the cap for the factory housing.

I don't think you will find one. Unless you find one for a Cummins that will fit. I don't know if it's the same housing.

Think you could find the thread so I can read further?

I searched the filter housing part number from the picture. It appears that the OEM cap for the that filter housing, is the same part number used on Ecodiesel Ram.

Housing:
https://www.moparpartsgiant.com/parts/mopar-filter-fuel~68358393aa.html

Cap:
https://parts.moparonlineparts.com/...VhBG4qg2khlm87j5XC1ZWS&utm_source=chatgpt.com

The cap is listed to work on 3.0 Ram 1500 trucks. The funny thing is that NONE of the mopar stores list the cap separately for Jeep Wrangler & Gladiator applications, when you look for the fuel filter cap in the parts stores under the applications you only get the full filter housing assembly that comes with the cap.

You can conclude that the cap will work based on the fact the fuel filter part number works across all the platforms:

I wish there were a kit that relocates the fuel filter housing to a safer, more accessible location. An all-billet housing would also be a significant upgrade in terms of durability and serviceability.

You spoil me! Thanks for doing that.

I’m due for a filter change, I’ll let you all know

Food for thought: the filter housing is also plastic, so an increase in durability of the cap doesn't reduce the likelihood of the housing taking damage if hit.
That goes without saying. Many have reported stripping the cap, I stripped mine a little last time I was changing my fuel filter so I am looking at a replacement cap anyway. I have a rubicon so there is a "skid" over the filter, but I cannot comment on how durable that metal bucket is.

As I mentioned before, I would love to be able to replace the entire assembly with a billet piece and relocate it to a completely different location that is easier to access and has less exposure.

As far as I know, all ecodiesels have the metal dome/skid for the fuel filter. I wouldn't put too much faith in it holding up terribly well judging from how thin it is, but fair bet it'd do better than the stock filter assembly alone.

I agree a better protected location would be nice and long term durability of a metal assembly would be preferable.

I would start looking at universal diesel filter kits or something similar and see if you can make some thing like that work.

There are tones of options out there just need to pick something and make it work'

I pulled the trigger and bought the relocation bracket and the billet cap replacement. I’ll update after the install

After looking at all the part listings that are the same for a Dodge 3.0 eco diesel and 6.7 Cummins, I’m pretty confident that the aftermarket filter assemblys for 6.7 will fit the 3.0 as well but I don’t really need all of that with the relocation bracket and cap replacement
