Not a difficult one.

Different recent data for each tank based on your driving habits and the on-board calculated average MPG. Your MPG varies tank-to-tank and therefore so does the estimate. Add to that variability in the pumps calling it "full" and this is completely normal.

Not every pump shuts off at the same level. And you never drive the same tank-to-tank. This is normal.

I can make my "miles remaining" change by over 50 easily each fill-up.

LOL - stop overthinking it. YES, it's been explained well by @sharpsicle.
Heck, I can park my truck with 68 miles left and then get in in an hour later and get to the end of my driveway and see 40 miles left. It's judging based on a lot of criteria.
Plus like the man said - you can't possibly ever fill your tank to the exact same level two times in a row. You just can't do it. Ambient temperatures, temperature of the gas coming from the ground, the nozzle, the slope of the stations drive area and more. You just can't possibly do it.
I find different miles to empty every time I fill, doesn't matter if it's at the same station or not. It's always me filling it - but it's basing it off the history of the last tank, the average of the last tank when you stopped it last and more.
Again, stop trying to out-think it. Accept it - it's normal. There's nothing wrong with your Jeep or the gas station.
The last 20 miles you drove were likely different this time than the last 20 miles you drove on the previous tank, for example.

Every nozzle behaves a bit differently. Look at how they operate technically. There's a whole lot to it, even how that nozzle is sitting in the fill hole, how far it's in, how fast it's been filling, the air pressure being built up, these really are amazing devices - gas pump nozzles.
If I pick on 3 Casey's stations - the nozzles at each location act a bit differently and I can fill one one side of the island at the same station, then the other side next time and it will act differently.
You can easily see a couple of gallons difference when this nozzle shuts off compared to another nozzle - even at the same station.

I See what you guys are saying but if the pump stops at 15.5 gallons at both gas stations my gas tank gauge should read the same no matter how fast I went yesterday or if the novel has a 360 bend or even if the gas pump put out 5 gallons a sec how can you get 43 miles more ?

How would driving tank to tank have anything to do with it I fill up on empty 289 miles till I'm out fill up again 340 till empty same amount of gas 15.5 gallons

no matter how fast I went yesterday
This right here is the culprit then most likely. Yes going different rates of speed can change the mileage you get...
I hate to say it but I can force mine to drop a few MPG off the reading just by gunning the engine at light on a hill. It calculates the extra gas used by a wide open throttle, the extra work the engine is doing right then, and it drops.
I've also watched it go up as I drove conservatively (or not go down as I went on in miles).

Here ya go from the interwebs -
Speeding increases fuel consumption and decreases fuel economy as a result of tire rolling resistance and air resistance. While vehicles reach optimal fuel economy at different speeds, gas mileage usually decreases rapidly at speeds above 50 miles per hour (mph). For light-duty vehicles, for example, every 5 mph you drive over 50 mph is like paying $0.18 more per gallon of gas (based on the price of gas at $2.63 per gallon). Reducing your speed by 5 to 10 mph can improve fuel economy by 7%–14%.

Your average MPGs can vary and that's what it's based on. Definitely doesn't have anything to do with you put in premium in I can promise you that.

it's because of how you drove in that week, not that one station is giving you more mileage per tank than the other. Haul ass for a week and go back to the station that gave you more miles then come back here and tell us how many miles you'll get out of that tank.
