Well then as free capitalism. I should be able to buy direct from the factory. This way I have the ability to choose. Being forced to buy from dealership is no different then government contol

I remember when the Challenger R/T came back out in 2008 and dealers were putting $25,000 mark-up on them. 18 months later you could buy the same car for under invoice. Lol.

As mentioned, be patient. This is a pickup truck, not a Bugatti. They will quickly figure out that mark-up isn't going to fly with customers as inventory piles up.

If you're on this forum, there's a pretty good chance that you know how to get a good deal. The more the uninformed are willing to pay, the more dealers will pressure FCA to keep pushing inventory. Just don't be the idiot who pays over MSRP. The term "rape" seems...excessive, considering that you pay what you're willing to pay.

Same as when the 2014 C7 Stingray Corvette came out. I went to see one they had in the showroom and it was $15k dealer mark-up and they would not honor my supplier discount. Went back a month later and it was reduced to $10k dealer mark-up and would not honor my supplier discount. Went back a month later and got for $9k under.

This wait is killing me too but I know the longer I wait the better deal I'm likely to get.

I don't get the complaining to be frank.

If you don't want to pay that, then don't pay that. Don't buy it. That markup is for the idiot that is dumb enough to pay it. You KNOW those people are out there.

Prove to the world that you're smart about this and wait for the hype to die down. By the time Gator Green is available, I expect I'll be able to order for 5% or more below invoice. I'm more than happy to hold off.

Wait. So if you make a custom build online and have it sent to your dealership they can still try and hit you with a 10k markup?

If you sit and be quiet about things nothing changes. Putting it out here for people to read and see how much there being taken advantage of hopefully sends a message. If we all let things just happen we will all pay the penalty of the overpriced vehicles.

i wish jeep, and every manufacturer for that matter would allow you to buy direct online, then pick up from a dealer/have it delivered.
Imagine....ordering from online dealer, like amazon....they ship the car to your door....very low overhead...

Hey, let them charge what they want. Seriously. However, I am all for posting the name of the dealerships doing this as well as though honoring affiliate pricing, dicounts, or even just plain MSRP pricing. There will always be those willing to "over" pay for something for whatever the reason. It's kinda like ticket scalpers. Some will jack the price way up if the demand is there and people are willing to pay it. Wait till right before kickoff and watch those prices plummet. There are also those out there selling tickets that are just trying to get face value to get there money back. I am looking for that kind of a dealer. One that isn't looking to make a ton on a few, but make a few on a ton. Just my two cents. Cheers!

VERY few companies that actually produce their own products sell directly to the public, and I don’t blame them = too big PITA factor, especially on such a complicated product. You can’t even buy toilet paper direct, and it only has 3 parts - packaging, core roll, and tissue.

Then can try, which is why it is in your best interest to have a refundable deposit and/or deal in writing.....or use one of the good guys from this forum

Why them sleezy no good bastards... serious though I'm in Alabama and when I get ready I might go out of state. Haven't really comed through the forum list of "good" dealers to see which ones the closest to me
