I've seen several threads, both here and over on the JL site, about members being deluged when they open the driver's door in the rain. I haven't had this happen. When I had the top off the other day, I looked closely at the area in question...

As you can see (first picture,) the upper part of the rubber is designed to take runoff from the door drip rail and direct it into the lower rubber gutter.

The second picture shows a small rubber pipe that's there to take runoff from the Freedom Panel area and direct it into the lower rubber gutter, as well.

And finally the third picture shows the upward extension of the lower rubber gutter to help contain runoff, and direct it away from the door opening.

I don't know if this is something added to the 2021 models, but it all works to keep me from getting a shower when I open my door in the rain.

I get a shower on my 2020 Rubicon. Not sure I care enough to do something about it, but shower on rainy days for sure

Valuable lesson learned 2 days ago. Was pouring here in Ohio, stopped for breakfast and upon re-entering my JTR, a torrent of water drenched my left leg, drivers door electronics, and drivers mat. Heard about it but never experienced it till then. Next stop was the paint store, looked for an uphill spot, parked nose higher than rear, dry as a bone when I got back after shopping. Now I know what those concrete parking bumps are for! If it’s raining, pull front tires on top of them, problem solved.
