Not corn based, and it doesn't matter anyway, mice will eat any of the insulation, no matter the material. Proof is in the classics I've worked on, our heat pump system, and more. They'll chew any wire insulation regardless of what the base of it is.

What people seem to believe is that if it's based on soy, or whatever, there's a good taste to it. It won't taste or smell like soy.
Doesn't matter what it's made from, mice and other rodents will chew on it. Soy-based doesn't taste any better or different to them. Taste isn't the reason anyway.
This should be a must have mod…

We've covered the ideal of ultrasonic over the years - they may work for a short time, but if you have mice in the area, those mice will return after figuring out there's no danger.
It's only possible to help a little if you constantly have new mice getting in - repeaters will figure it out and keep coming back.

One other issue is that high frequencies are directional - meaning easily blocked by stuff, around corners, firewalls and so on. You'd need multiples if they did work.

I won't waste my money, personally.

Just a quick update,

I arrived in Thailand yesterday.

The Gladiator has been running for about 3–4 weeks now.

The issue turned out to be a small damage to the harness. Thankfully, the damaged cable was replaced without needing to change the entire harness.

It’s unbelievable that it took them five months to figure it out! I had told them to check the entire harness for rodent damage during the first week. Instead, I ended up losing a few hundred bucks on spare parts they asked me to order and missed out on months of traveling.

That said, I only paid $200 for the work and the full service on the car, less than what I would’ve spent on indoor parking in Bangkok for that long!

Back to adventure mode!

If it’s allowed to post and you’re curious to know more about our journey, you can find us on Instagram under Destination Ikigai.

A big thank you to everyone who tried to help, it means a lot!
