The Gladiator Rubicon comes standard with a part-time four-wheel drive system, while the Grenadier Quartermaster has full time four-wheel drive with a lockable center differential and locking front and rear differentials are available as an option.

Is this the French version of AWD or have they figured out how to make a full-time 4x4 that doesn't bind? If it really is full time 4x4, then it will get like 10mpg and make the Gladiator look efficient.

Not the best looking vehicle, the front doesn't fit the back. Also way too much English in that vehicle for me to consider it. I owned a Defender 90 in the past and that vehicle was definitely a "one step forward, two back" maintenance queen so that's a hard no.

The JT is most definitely ugly at least in its stock form. Huge wheel arches with little wheels really throws it off. But who the hell buys a Jeep to keep stock?

I think after all the jeeps I have had, the JT is one really good locking truck, cause it looks like a wrangler. Soft top adds some peculiar appearance. Have you seen the new Chev or GMC midsize off road choices. Great new configs and engines but not too appealing, some ugly short beds and angles.. Dam Ranger isn't that good looking either. 24 Taco ain't no shining star on looks either. My wife pulled up in the JT the other day to tow me and my CJ5 4 miles back home. I fell in love twice in 1 glance as she was pulling up. Her and the dam JT.

I just ordered a 23 JT Max Tow, almost same config as my 20. I specked out a 24 F-150, could have saved a grand or two and had my 5.0. Part of the appeal of this JT and Wrangler's in general is not falling into the cookie cutters everyone else is driving. F150, Silverado, Taco, Camaro, Mustang. why be like everyone else???

Just a fun rant.

Drive Safe!!

Perhaps the JT does not look good or complete until it has the correct wheels, tires and lift???? But after that, darn near perfection.

While I am not much of a fan for the styling of this vehicle, it is purpose built and will succeed in certain markets and overlanding. It can be "American-ized" by cleaning up some body bits and pieces to give it that look and be more competitive.

JT styling is not everybody's cup of tea either. Like when I traded my Mojave last April for a new WL74. Only after it was gone did some of my co-worker's comment on how ugly it was.

Prior to buying my Willy's JT I looked at the mid sized GMC and drove one. I am 6'2" and felt like I was stuffed into the thing with no room. I used a Chevy Colorado at work and it about beat me to death. I got exactly what I wanted with the Willy's (especially after adding a 2" lift and 35's)

agreed.

the JT looks weird with the top off and It doesn't start to really look good until it's wearing 35s.

Stock it's like a skateboard with the really little wheels

It's not French, the 4x4 system is Steyr. The only reason France is associated with Ineos is because they bought the Smartville factory in Hambach from Daimler AG. Steyr designed the chassis, suspension and drivetrain.

And yes, it gets shit mileage because it's full time 4x4. ~14mpg on the SUV.

It doesn't really have any English in it. BMW engine, ZF trans, Carraro axles, Eibach suspension. The whole concept is to build a better Defender, which means getting rid of the English bits lol.

"We thought, well, we’ll replace it. Then we thought, let’s build a better one, something that doesn’t leak and is comfortable. After all, this isn’t 1948. We can move on." Speaking on how they would modernise the Defender's design he stated "That was when we started collecting similar vehicles – Bronco, Pajero, G-Wagen, various Jeeps – to see how other manufacturers had done it"

That looks like 2 different designers worked on that center console, with little consideration of conventions, standards, nor consistency. That lower unit looks like it’s 1950s space-tech.

The Toyota Land Cruiser has had full time 4WD since the 1990s. Jeep also has a similar system, Quadratrack. It's not a new idea or new technology.
