RokBlokz size original/original.

I wholeheartedly feel they do not need to be any wider/longer, but as you can see, I also have rock sliders with top plates. I could not be happier with the RB size choice/setup.

I installed the WT flaps last year after having slush all down the side of the truck during one of our rare big snow storms. They made a huge difference in the amount of mud or slush that gets tossed up. I am wondering if I'll need to remove them before going to the Bantam Heritage Jeep Festival in June, though. I haven't really taken it off-road other than around my in-laws' farm and the mud holes by the river.

If you do not off-road, or the most you are going to do are fire/logging roads, go with the WeatherTech. They are a custom fit and they look like it. No drilling, but they do not come off if you want the added clearance off-road.

If you need them to work when you want them too, and come off easily when you don't, and you don't care that they look like you purchased them at the local truck stop, then the RokBlokz are the way to go.

Two different quality products for two different kinds of Jeep owners.

Short answer to keeping the road grime off the sides of your truck is to have some kind of rock rail or flat step attached.

My 21 JTR had the Weather Tech flaps but I also had the down angled tube rock sliders and my sides never saw the crap. I’ve recently got into a
23 JTR with the factory rock slider (hugs in close to the body), and it came with no flaps and I had road crap everywhere.

Wife and I looked at all the flaps available and, reluctantly, bought the Weather Tech’s and I now see 1/2 the crap all over but we need the rock sliders to stop the other half. Photos attached is real world experience with the WT flaps.

To add to my post, I also have the Expel PPF satin body wrap and the rear fenders have a double layer of wrap on the front facing surface to have more rock protection. Hinges are also wrapped. (It came that way from the previous owner that didn’t want to scratch it)

Consider fender flare extensions
for even more protection,
specially if you have wider tires than stock.

My original setup had Rock Rails
and 35s on Fuel Fusion wheels
that came with my used Rubicon.
Note the slight v-shaped gap.
Can't do much about that.

Rubicon Red goes with anything.

Then when I replaced the Rock Rails
with old man steps
I did not want the cutout hole showing
so I purchased another set of RokBlokz,
this time in black.

For the Mopar fender flare extensions,
the fronts are direct fit.
The rears require buying fronts
and flipping them left to right
and drilling holes.
In my opinion do not bother with
rear fender flare extensions or mud flaps.
That way people are less likely
to tailgate you in rainy weather.

I did not like the thumb screws and clips
that came with the RokBlokz.
They loosened up after a while.
On the second installation
I used metric screws, washers and nuts
that I could tighten with wrenches.

Weathertechs here……Easy to install. I only have them on the front.

Having some sort of sliders, steps, or running boards helps keep the crap off the sides.

Hi all. I’m a new Gladiator owner and want to get some mud flaps for my ride to stop some of the road spray and salt flying up on to the doors.

I’m not super keen on the idea of drilling holes in my brand new Jeep so I have been looking at the “no drill” variety and was wondering if they are worth it? Are the “no drill” ones as good as the ones you drill in and bolt to the body / fenders?

For those of you with “no drill” ones, any suggestions on brands or things to look out for or pay attention to?

Any help or feedback is much appreciated! Thank you!

I've run the weathertechs since basically week 2 of ownership, so almost 3 years now. Front and rear, love em. The rear's are helpful in keeping slop from being thrown up inside the rear bumper (steel), if that's something that you care about. Otherwise running just fronts work. Also, for offroad, I would only be concerned on a very abrupt drop off. The rears line up with the approach angle of the rear bumper, the fronts are pretty well out of the way (unless you were crawling on a rock or something and dropped right off).

There is not one single thing that one could do to a Jeep that would detract more from its overall looks and general appearance and that would be to install mud flaps. It is not just my opinion either. I can see more than a hundred jeeps go down the road before I would see one with mud flaps. They really do not do that much good.

Again, the reason I have mud flaps on my vehicle is to prevent damage to the people behind me, due to Alaska using pebbles and rocks on the roads, in lieu of salt.

Sure, I could go without, but I'd rather not be THAT GUY who doesn't give a crap about other people's hard-bought vehicles.

Well thank you for sharing your opinion. Duly noted. They happed to be required equipment in most states, mine included. Also, who wants to be the shit bag throwing mud and rocks at other cars while travelling down the road?

Another vote for the RokBlokz. I choose the RokBlokz XL Long for my Gladiator on 35" tires with Mopar 2.5" lift. The coverage is perfect. No mud/rocks can be kicked up on any paint. My doors and rear fenders stay clear of stone chips.

I did not have to trim anything on my Rubicon to fit the RokBlokz XL Long Mud Flaps on the front or the rear. I did have to trim the front mud flaps to fit around the Mopar Performance Rock Rails.

My first set lasted about 5 years in Michigan chloride gravel and salty winters. The fasteners eventually corroded and the bolts were seizing up. I replaced the mud flaps and hardware with the same set from RokBlokz again. They have improved the rear brackets and they are heavier duty then they were a few years ago.
