My Spit and me were together arround 28 years and I lost some tears when we parted ...

Yep, I had a 1969 Spitwad in Navy flight school. I loved that car. Then my first son came along and I knew it was 20 years before I'd have a two seater again. I miss that car, parting was sorrow. And yes, the Prince of Darkness got me one night and I had to sneak home blacked out on the back roads.

I looked at a70 MGB last year, Good looking car thought it over decided at 21 working on a broken down car was fun. At 72 not so much. I'm sure the electrical gremlins have not become better with age. I told my grandson it's a British car not a fine wine, doesn't improve with age.

I hear you on the age part. LOL I'm 68 and I look at projects a lot differently now.
In my travels the last month. I found a house that had 9 MGB's sitting in the front yard/driveway near Mount Vernon Ohio. Looked like the guy was restoring them. The house had a huge garage in the back.

Those were the parts cars for the project MGB in the garage.

for me, that thing does not belong there, same as busses or such. its a race track here in Germany, where really fast cars go, so with anything slow you will be a dangerous obstacle, I stopped driving there some years ago, as too many "fun" or coffee rides happen there during public sessions....

Yeah I have. I don’t understand it but personally I wouldn’t take a truck on there. Doesn’t seem responsible to the others….I must be getting old. Nowadays when I need an adrenaline fix I grab my KTM and hit the trails with my son.
The open drive days are a hoot. All sorts of things on the Nordschleife. But, everyone knows, you aren't setting any records, and there are tons of wrecks. You basically sign your life away when you drive it.

If you want to go fast, they have special track days for those with more capable vehicles.

The best experience I had was when I owned my BMW I did a track weekend there with BMW owners group. Had the track to ourselves, BMW's were provided by the company, as were drivers to teach you the track and how best to attack it.

All for 5000 bucks. Best money I ever spent!
