Well I just had an extremely odd and somewhat uncomfortable telephone interaction with someone at the Jeep plant. I was given the phone number by plant security (bc I chose the wrong number off google) that gave me someone at “a desk phone” who acted like I was asking for extremely sensitive information. They told me they hadn’t started 2021s yet and when I asked if they had any projected start date for the 2021 gladiators there was a long pause followed by “...who is this?” I politely replied “I’m just a customer who placed an order for a 2021 gladiator” and they said that they weren’t able to provide confidential information. I told them I was very sorry, that I didn’t realize it was even a “confidential topic,” I wasn’t trying to get anyone in trouble and was just trying to gauge the wait time and they hung up a few seconds later. Very odd.
Not to be a downer...but you may as well just resign yourself to the fact you will most likely be waiting anywhere from 10-15 weeks. I ordered mine May 23 and still don't have it. It's been built for 3 weeks and still stuck somewhere in shipping. I'm currently at 12 weeks and counting.

Yea, I don’t think you’re being a downer. That sounds realistic unfortunately. But tbh, if they could say “it’ll be built and to you the week of September XX” or even “week of October XX” then I’d be more content than having a huge window of time where it may or may not happen. I completely understand things taking longer or timeframes getting messed up in the middle of a global pandemic, so I’m not upset or wanting anyone to be put in danger just to make a car - I’ve just never dealt well with ambiguity.

That is why they have Jeep Chat, and Customer Service. They don't want just anybody in the company giving out information.

I suppose I get that, but what about the production date of a car that isn't remotely secret is "confidential"? I didn't ask about a Hercules or some secret concept car. I simply asked about the beginning of production of this year's model that they've already been accepting orders for. Just seemed to be a really strange response to what felt like a completely and utterly normal question.

I posted this in another forum last month. It was the only dates I was able to find and so far they seem correct with the 2021 Wranglers being built.

I found this tentative production schedule at (http://www.napletonfleet.com/run_static.php?htm=startup_dates.htm)

Hm, well I like the "Job #1 Date" but I'm sort of confused by the fact that they say the initial order date is roughly a week after I placed my order for a 2021 gladiator!

How long does it take to update the build sheet? I already got the build date on Monday but still don't see it in the sheet.

You got the build date on Monday from where? Crypto email? Jeep Chat? Dealer?

Dealer.

This Monday I got a D1 status with a firm build date of 9/2.
Can't see it in the sheet though.

I verified with my dealer today that mine is still scheduled to be built by 9/4. Probably will be held up for emissions testing for months after its built.

What makes you think it’ll be held up in emissions testing?

Probably ordered a diesel is my guess. Thanks to the VW diesel cheating.

I did get the Diesel and I am trying to get myself ready for the delays that occured with the JL Diesel. It is odd to have a scheduled production start date in four days but no EPA figures have been confirmed or released on the mileage.

Or confirmed towing capacities. It seems really crazy to me theres no concrete info on them. I just ordered mine last week and went gas for that reason.
