Well I was one who waited 16 weeks to get my fully loaded Gladiator Rubicon Diesel. I got the call and the anticipation was supposedly over.

I go to the parts department to order the hardtop headliner because when they first showed it to me I saw it didn't have the headliner - then I saw this which everyone had missed, including me. They saw it so took it out of line to be PDI'd but didn't tell me. I think they were a little freaked out and didn't know what to say.

I feel I am fair and patient but when I'm told the vehicle will be sold to me with a disclaimer about the damage that worries me (does it go on the title and effect resale? does Carfax pick it up?). I asked for factory painted replacement parts and they said they'd try. Then I find out the parts had already been ordered in raw steel to be painted locally. Not sure what to think there.

So I'm considering reordering and rejoining all of you but now I'm worried that so many options are "restricted" (not available for order at this time) that I might not be able to do that.

I'm going to start calling around to see who else might have some pull to get one ordered correctly and possibly a little more quickly.

Bummer, I really liked this rig. Also, the dealership is trying but they are a little clumsy when telling me what is going on. It's the factory that is calling the shots and I don't think they care about me because they can sell this in a week, even with the disclaimer...

I’m an effort to get a gray dash without the tan leather while playing on the configurator I selected saddle color leather than upgraded to black perforated leather. The configurator kept gray dash and added black leather seats. Has anyone received their order in this configuration?

I hope this helps.

Apparently they can't figure mine out - this was the last word I had - and it doesn't match C, D or D1, or anything else for that matter.

Michael (5/11/2022, 9:05:01 AM): Thank you so much for holding. I am showing that your order is in the scheduling phase of the manufacturing process.

And that's 9 days after the order was placed.

Need to contact them again, I guess.

I know we're all excited to get our vehicles, but I'm okay with them getting to mine built on Wednesday or so next week. A Friday afternoon build prior to a three day weekend or Tuesday build after a three day weekend seems to be asking for trouble.

Jeesh Chumley that really sucks! To my layman’s eye it looks like shipping damage, but who knows could ne he Dealer’s fault. You should have some direct discussions with Jeep or FCA America about the situation, send them the photo, see what they’ll do for you. There is no way you should just roll over, accept this damaged vehicle, then give it back for who knows how long to be repaired and painted.

Truck was delivered to the dealer today. They weren't able to do the PDI today. I wouldn't mind if I got it tomorrow but I'm expecting Tuesday at this point. So close yet so far. ?
So close! At least it has finally showed up.

Frankly, I'd be extremely happy just knowing it was there, safe and sound (well, as safe as any vehicle can be at a dealership) - the worst should be over (well, depending on your payment options LOL)

Patiently waiting my Gobi Mojave. Got a call from the dealer who said it shipped out of Toledo on 21 May at 10:42 a.m. Jeeps tracking initially said delivery by June 13, even thought it doesn't even say shipped yet. Dealer was saying they expected it June 4-8, then tracking changed to June 9! Great, then today it changed to June 20! Driving me insane. Probably call the dealer tomorrow just to see if he knows anything. Probably issues, like a lot of people have had, with rail issues.

Well, everyone involved agreed I wouldn’t be happy with a repaired new Gladiator. They said no parts come from factory painted and said they would give me a special warranty for the local paint job. I think I tripped them up when I asked about whether or not the damage would show up on the vehicle history or on Carfax. They didn’t know but felt it would likely show up in CarFax.

So today I rejoined the ranks of the waiting but get to join a new thread. One who’s waiting for a Gobi colored one! My wife saw one in person and flipped on her opinion, it kind of looks like our 2012 SportsMobile van.

It will if they report it.
Not all repairs get reported, and non-accident repairs aren't often reported. There's no rule or law, shops report things voluntarily and if it's not in any accident report or insurance report, it's not likely to be found "automatically".
None of the work done on my WJ, engine, cooling system, even rocker panels, ever showed up anywhere. That's because the dealership that did the work for my father didn't participate or report, and the body shop that did the rocker panels didn't report things..
The only time I'd ever be bothered by something in reports would be if there was structural damage or frame damage - then I'd use it only as a starting point for my own investigation.

I can tell you exactly what happened. When they load your Jeeps into the railcars they use a bi level railcar system, so they load the second floor first, drop the plates they drive over in between the attached railcars, and repeat until they’re done with the top floor. Usually they would have 4-5 railcars attached to each other and when those were full they would pull them out and put another batch in for the rail workers to load up.

This looks like someone dropped the plate which is maybe 40-50 pounds of steel down to the first level and it landed on top of your roof. The part I don’t understand though is this seems impossible due to the vehicle should not be sticking out in between railcars at all, unless someone had it stopped in between two rail cars for some reason.

If this was the case and someone didn’t report what happened, I would be absolutely furious about how someone can just let that go and think “It’s not my truck, why should I care?” I guess I’m not completely sure, but the damage matches what I described. I would try ordering another one and maybe waiting it out for a few more months for a 2023. This is just so sad to see.
