I occasionally use some of my mil radios on GMRS and FRS, seems like a bit of overkill but its fun. This one is set up on a 462.600 GMRS repeater with 192.8 tone among other things. The second pic is the boot up screen to show its not one of those import lookalikes.

Yeah I was curious on how strict they were about announcing your call sign. I know what the right answer is, but common practices may vary.

Put in for my license today. Just curious…at what point do you pay? After they approve it? I expected to have to put my payment in prior to it being shown as ‘Submitted’. Thank you.

Is this for GMRS? You fill out the form online and when you submit it should take you to a payment site right away. There is nothing for them to approve except for they got your $$. If you didn't make a payment its probably lost in limbo somewhere.

Yes, that was my concern. It made no sense to me why the transaction would go through without a payment. I was even following step by step instructions. Maybe it was a browser issue.

I’m guessing someone will “fix the glitch” and cancel that request this week. That or I’ll have to submit an amended application. Thank you.?

Edit: Found it. Not the most user friendly system.

It probably won't get fixed. I would recommend doing it again, following all instructions and if they recommend using a certain browser, do that too. Then you should get a link to the payment site and after you make payment you are good. I sort of remember renewing a license not long ago and something on the FCC site didn't work and I had to start over.

My CORES - FRN Financial - Red Light Status is now green since my payment went through. My FRN is linked to my profile, but the license isn’t showing or linking to the FRN. Will give that another go tomorrow I guess.

I copied some other people and mounted my Gladiator MXT275 behind the glove box. Mounted a remote jack in the center console right ahead of the shifter. And mounted my Ghost antenna right here -

On my TJ I mounted the unit itself right on my dash and also mounted the antenna on the the hood. I apologize for the crappy pictures of the TJ, they were taken outside in the dark with an old iPad

My CORES - FRN Financial - Red Light Status is now green since my payment went through. My FRN is linked to my profile, but the license isn’t showing or linking to the FRN. Will give that another go tomorrow I guess.

It was taking a couple of days for a license to get issued last few I did but it will come.
