Oahu first then Big Island. Going for the first time in my 49 years and will be there for 2 weeks. Pretty excited, except for getting up in 7 hours. Still have packing and organizing to do. Damn procrastination and hyperfixation on jeep parts and build threads.

Awesome man! Do all the touristy stuff. And definitely go see Pearl Harbor. I saw it when I was 11 years old and it still stays with me.

I did my first reenlistment aboard the USS Arizona Memorial back in 1986. Raised my flag on the ship’s mast. It was a very proud moment in my career.
I was very aware of the reason that the Memorial exists.

I would agree. I was stationed at Kaneohe for 2.5 years and visited twice. My dad was a Marine in the Pacific during WWII and when we visited it was one of the few times I saw him cry. The other was when I got orders for Vietnam.
