I've been looking at a step to go with my rubi rails because well, I'm a fan of the rubi rails. I was looking for something easily removed and these hit the mark other than the price point. I mean are they crazy or something charging a price like this for these or am I crazy. Almost a $1000 to get 4?

Oh wow, they’re proud of those. Have you seen the M.O.R.E. step? It’s compatible with stock rails and supposedly easy to remove
Yeah you talking about the hideaway step. I'm not really a fan. I'm looking for something similar to these. They had them for the JK's but for some reason no one has made anything for the JT's yet. They had a quick release step for the JK's that was like $350 for 4 of them. $1000 seems crazy.

Edit: well no on has made anything other than this company.

I wouldn't pay that for a pair of steps, but having said that those things are milled out of blocks of aluminum which is both an expensive process and very expensive materials currently...

It's a cool idea that looks well done and the price is unfortunately probably not too out of line especially for something like that manufactured in the USA.

Totally agree, I'd take something made out of a lesser material if it was half the cost. I got excited because when I clicked on it they were like $494 and I was thinking, ok for a set of 4 but then 2 for that, dang.

I mean in reality if they can make these so cheap I really can't see how they can justify the $1000 price tag. Something like this would be all I'm looking for but for a Rubi rail. Any engineers on here with welding skills should make a effort to brainstorm something. I got the image in my head but don't have the skills to make it happen

Yeah, if that price was for 4 I would have been tempted when I had my stock rails.

Maybe ask yourself if you really need 4? Maybe just get the 2 front.

My kids get into the back seat. They are teenage gymnasts. they jump right up. No big deal.

If my dad rides with me, I've got one of these stowed behind the rear seat.

It works FANTASTIC. And it's $10 for the occasional old/fat passenger.

Yeah, I've had to carry one of those for my dad before but getting it in and out looks crazy. We normally just take the BMW now if my parents ride with us. I'd more than likely want 4 because unless I'm off road I'd probably leave them on and remove them when going off road. The appeal to me is that they sit flat and don't hang down so they don't give the appearance of less lift when on the jeep.

I have a pair of these ordered and due to arrive in the next 10 days (chose these for the same reasons as the OP). I'll report back on this thread with my thoughts. Note that the JL Forum has a thread with Archetype that provides a code that should still work.

I'd love a solution like this but $1k for 4 steps seems too high.

The wife wants the AMP retractable. I'm on the Rough Country Contoured Drop Steps... which I disliked so much I only placed 1 side on for the kids & wife.

Glad
agree. and really whats the point of aluminum and bolting it to steel. I mean that size there is absolutely no weight loss gain from it.
