So on the fence after 2 windshields in 6 months was wondering what everyone’s take was on the gorilla glass windshields vs the regular ? Almost double the money up here in Ontario! Canada…. Better ? Or stick with the regular?

I’m running the HGP Gorilla glass windshield. It took a few hits that would’ve severely damaged the regular windshield. It comes with a two-year warranty.
I took a BIG hit at 23 months, and it did this…

They sent me a warranty replacement.
At US prices, it cost me about $350 per windshield. I figured I’m saving money still, because in that 23 months I’d’ve probably needed at least 3 regular windshields.

My experience is almost exactly the same as Kevin's except that I tried the mopar gorilla glass before switching to hgp after the dealership didn't honor the mopar warranty... later with hgp it did eventually crack and hgp honored their warranty without any hassle
Short version... gorilla glass will last longer but isn't indestructible so I went with hgp to reduce trips to the windshield shop ... others get insurance with good glass coverage and just have regular visits with their windshield shop

I have gorilla glass currently and hasn't busted yet. Had it on my JL as well that cycled through windshields every 6 months, including a gorilla glass windshield. Haven't really noticed a difference.

Best advice, adjust your comprehensive insurance coverage to $0 deductible if you are not in a state like AZ where windshield coverage is mandatory at $0 deductible. The cost to lower it is less than a windshield a year typically. Since I average two for a number of reasons, so it is worth it.

Owned a 2022 for 1 year now, and Gorilla windshield has held up well. Granted I'm used to TJ windshields before this which always seemed to gain hairline cracks. (very flat!)

Ok I didn’t know there were different people doing the gorilla glass, I will see if I can find that brand here in Ontario

Yeah, but those threads are all full of hate, anger, and totally unreasonable expectations never having done any research into what it does and doesn't do.

LOL, that's funny. Again, totally missing the whole point or even what it is. No, glass isn't glass. Maybe your "window guy" was sleeping in class.
YES, they will break - the outer layer will. But it's more resistant to certain impacts - something like 60% less likely to break.
