If you've got a Rubicon or Overland, can you post a picture of your door jamb sticker GVWR and GCWR. Google gives a vague number between 5,800 lbs. and 6,250 lbs for GVWR. I'm trying to get a better idea of how specific models are rated and the door jamb decal is the only way to really find out. It's not in the owners manual either, oddly.

Thank you, sirs.

6250 - roughly 1150 payload = 5100 lbs. curb weight which is right on the money.

Very helpful, thanks.

Yeah I'm thinking the Overlands will have a lower GVWR. But would be interesting to see a couple of their door tags.

I recall when I test drove an Overland the GCWR was 5800. I remember because I commented to the sale guy that I wanted more towing capacity.

For baseline, the official specificaions sheet breaks out the GVWR & towing specifications by model by trim by options

https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/...ecifications-sheet-feature-availability.8468/

Sport
Curb Weight
Automatic 4672lb
Manual 4650lb

GAWR Front/Rear / GCWR / Max Trailer
Manual w/ 3.73 axle 3100/3750lb / 9100lb / 4000lb
Automatic w/ 3.37 axle 3100/3750lb / 9650lb / 4500lb
Automatic w/ 4.10 axle 3100/3750lb / 11100lb / 6000lb
Automatic w/ 4.10 w/ Max Tow 3100/3750lb / 12800lb / 7650lb

Automatic w/ 4.10 axle 3100/3750lb / 12450lb / 7000lb

So your max tow sport package can either haul maximum payload or tow maximum trailer but cannot exceed GCWR in either case.

GVWR - gross vehicle weight rating
GCWR - gross combined weight rating ( vehicle + trailer )
GAWR - gross axle weight rating (individual axle weight limit)
Max Trailer - trailer + cargo

I pulled a random build sheet for an Overland off the tracking thread:

GVW Rating - 5800#

FWIW, Rubicon build sheets list this:

GVW Rating - 6250#

Yeah, that's what the Dana 44s get you. I'd bet that we'll get a max tow on the overland eventually, or at some point they may just put the d44s on all of them. If you don't want high payload and towing, why get the gladiator over a JL?

All Gladiators have Dana 44s.

The higher GVWR on Rubicon and Sport Max Towing likely comes from the springs, but I suppose it could be a combo of things.

I have an Overland, it's 5800 on the sticker. From what I've seen so far there is no max tow package on the Overland. There is the regular tow package on the online configurator. https://www.jeep.com/bmo.gladiator....ERC,DEM,TDA,WPT,C7,SDW,UAG,DME,X9,PSC,23G,APA

The only models that let you add max tow are the sport and sport s. I don't know why that is and I don't know if the dealer can add max tow on the Overland. I think the only thing different is the addition of the axle ratio. I could be wrong. I like my Overland a lot and won't tow much with it, I have a Ram 3500 for that. My manual says I can tow 6,000 btw

You're right, they're upgraded, or "heavy duty" Dana 44s. Sport s max tow gets heavy duty wide Dana 44s and 4.10 gears with bigger brakes, which are essentially Rubicon axles minus lockers. I think they'll offer those on the overland eventually, and at some point may become the default.

The axles are slightly wider and have larger brakes along with the gears, though I think the overland gets the bigger brakes by default.

I agree- the difference has to come from different spring rates, even though the ride height appears to be the same. And the shocks.
