Has anyone else done this to their garage door ?

Did something kind of similar. My old house had a Genie worm drive garage door that opened very fast. I got coniditioned to just pushing the open button and then back out. My new house has a Liftmaster opener that opens a lot slower then the Genie opener. First time backing out with my JKU, I slightly scratch the rear top of the hardtop because I backed out before the door was raised completely and just barley nicking the hardtop. Didn't hurt the garage door, but I did learn to look in the right side mirror to make sure the garage dooor is completely raised before I back out now.

Can't see the door in your left side mirror????? )

I do put stuff in the bed, but who needs to put the top down when your hauling stuff. Just saying, who needs to do that.

Here's another thing . I got in the habit of leaving the top unlatched when I pulled into the garage because I was just gonna flip the top open when I pulled out. So I'm leaving the house one day and I hear a funny noise, while trying to figure it out the top suddenly goes flying back at about 20 mph . Great. Again no damage. I blame it on the sun shade
I installed that doesn't make it obvious the top is latched or not .
Jeez !
And like before I did it again but this time I recognized the noise and pulled right over.
The noise was surprising loud and
kinda of a roar . If you hear something like that just stop!

I am getting ready to buy a premium soft top and should probably take measurements, but I am going to assume I will not be able to pull in with the top folded back.

I am currently running the Mopar lift with 315/70r17s.

I did much worse than this. I did it to my hard top, right after I bought my JT. Ended up scratching it, and having to "fix" it with bed liner. So far the bed liner is holding up though. No regrets ahahaha.

I use to do garage door installs & repairs full time. I can't count how many damaged garage door panels were damaged from bikes, kayaks, roof racks, luggage etc.

The occasional drunk driver usually did the most damage.
