I did a search and either I'm hopeless at searching or the question is not up yet.

I have a 2021 V6 JTR with 30,000 miles and have not had it off road. Over the five years there have been some minor hiccups along the way, chronologically:

1. The instrument cluster partially failed around 14,000 miles (warranty repaired).
2. I had the rear window leak (fixed it mydamnself)
3. Corrosion - 3 doors, hood and tailgate replaced (warranty repaired)
4. I got the diff sensor fail (light blinking, sensor full of fluid, warranty repaired.
5. Prior to getting item 4 fixed, the Service Transmission light came on twice (unresolved, went away, no codes were captured)
When I took it in for item 4, I told the dealer about it, he scanned for codes and said he couldn't replicate the issue and said it was tied to the diff lock sensor - but the diff lock light had been on and off intermittently over the course of several months without the ST light coming on. I have the Jeep back and have not had the light come back on...but I don't drive it much.

A couple of questions,
1. is it a load of bull what he said about the ST light being related to the diff sensor light coming on?
2. have they rectified the cause of the corrosion issue? I believe they used mismatched metals during construction for at least those first few years.
3. Have they solved the infamous Pentastar tick?
4. Did they fix the rear window leak (easy fix if they haven't, I know).

I appreciate any thoughts on this.

Thank you, not really what I was looking for; but still a good resource on the issue. Goes back to 2024. Was hoping to find that Jeep had corrected the issue that caused the corrosion. My repair bill on that issue was $15,000 but I didn't pay, they did. I'd hate to buy a new Gladiator and have to go through the same BS again.
I went through the same process as you on the corrosion issue. Everything I researched from Jeep is that they added the zinc shims to all the hinges going forward. The painting and material prep was also changed. My redo from Jeep came with a lifetime warranty on the repaint.

The hinges is part of it, but not the whole problem.

My truck has corrosion on the side of the hood where it meets the fender - a long way from the nearest hinge. It appears to have propagated from the seam where the two layers of the hood are stamped together.

I don't think the problem will ever go away fully as long as we have any aluminum body panels. They are tough to prep perfectly, even for a big manufacturer.

None of my corrosion was near any hinges too. I was only aware of the edges of the hood on mine, but the nice lady went over it with a fine tooth comb and found it everywhere.

Good info thank you! I don't think mine came with a lifetime warranty.

How come it wasn't covered?
Under the same lifetime warranty? Good question, I didn't think to question it because 'out of warranty'. I'd do a follow up call but thinking about trading it in anyway, that's why all my questions in the post, didn't want to buy the same experience as before.

I was wondering if you were still covered under the factory warranty.

Well Jeep did cover the corrosion (@ $15K), but if I remember right, the lady said it was a one time coverage. So at the end of the factory warranty period, bye bye coverage.

For what it’s worth my ‘22 Overland suffered none of those issues over 3 years of ownership and I just traded for ‘26 Mojave X and had a flawless first 3,000 miles so far. I’m off-road quite a bit s not very gentle n my Jeeps.
