I have noticed that mine seems to vary in temperature relative to the seat heat setting. Now this may be an abstract perceived correlation based on my own anecdotal experiences. But then again I also have to turn the seat all the way down to low to keep it from burning my butt. ?‍♂
✌

That has been my experience as well.

UPDATE: Well, this morning it was a balmy 10F outside, so I drove for a few minutes and took a thermal image - 39C/102F. Interestingly, it felt really warm (so maybe it was all about the perception). Tomorrow it should be much warmer (40-ies), so I'll try to take another one to see if there is any difference

I bought FLIR ONE (current generation is $200) when I bought a house that was built in 1975 - I used the thermal to identify places to fix where the cold air was coming in - I think it probably paid for itself in 2 winters.

Can't wait until some of the young hot-shot macho kid "I don't need no damned heat" types get older, get arthritis, develop Raynauds from work and injuries from work and have done so much lifting, bending and physical work for decades that their back is shot - and then their heated wheel and seats go out.
Years of lifting and carrying (back when engines, transmissions and differentials weighed more than 300 pounds) and working in the cold getting cars started for other people when the shop is totally full (and having to work gloves off in the blowing snow)
- or working outside keeping water flowing and livestock alive when for 7 days in a row the daytime high reaches a whopping minus 20 (F)
For years my AC was manually rolling down windows and my heat was fixed by a hotter stat and cardboard over the radiator.

If the seats get too hot, I notch 'em down but that's very rare (with a coat on, especially) if the wheel gets hot, I hit the button (not often, though - damn, that wheel feels GOOD in the fingers that have almost no circulation left)

I could use one in our current house for heat loss.

I'd be most likely to use one for my shop. I wonder how the $199 camera is on Amazon..........
House we had all windows replaced, both doors - inner and storm doors - replaced, house was stripped of siding, wrapped with tyvek and then insulated vinyl siding put on. That made it quieter and we've found no drafts.
I recall years ago looking at the bottoms of the original doors and seeing frost on a really windy day in the winter when it was 0 degrees or so.
Granted, the windows are now going on 20 years old and there's a lot better technology in the last 10 years, but I'm not real concerned. When the power goes out, the house stays warm for a long time.

This will be interesting to see if you get any significant fluctuations.

I love my heated steering wheel - much prefer it to heated seats actually!

Being wintertime here in MN, I changed my settings to turn on the heated wheel and seats on every start up. I've had the heated wheel on probably 95% of the time in the last 2 months and it sure feels like it fluctuates. Sometimes its nice and warm, other times I've had to check to make sure the button is actually on. Never had it close to hot enough that I've thought about turning it off. (seats on the other hand... I feel like I could fry an egg on those things... Setting 1 is often too warm for me.)

This can be such a subjective opinion... I'm looking forward to seeing some real data on this!

Absolutely. And I also agree that it seems to fluctuate. Annoying at times but then nothing I care to ask a dealer about or say "it needs to be fixed". I'm just happy that my truck has those options and they work. It was never intended to be a Lexus

The steering wheel in my 20 JT gets so hot I usually turn it off once the cab is heated up.
Same problem, seems there is no pre-set temp for cut off. My Ram steering wheel stop heating at a given temp.

I don't need a heated steering wheel. Have nothing wrong (yet) with my hands.

But it surrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre is nice. ;)

With my wife's issues, a heated steering wheel is now on the must-haves in a vehicle, unless we move to warmer weather.

I just got my 2022 JTR and I'm noticing that the heated steering wheel does not heat up nearly as well as in (formerly) my 2018 JLU. I wish I took temp measurements in JLU, but that steering wheel would heat up to the point, if I held on tight to it, it would be almost too much. In JTR, the wheel gets lukewarm. Wondering if it's something Jeep changed after 2018 or it's an issue with my JTR. Anybody has any knowledge/experience?
Mine also gets plenty warm.
