My JL was a Rubicon and I loved it, but test driving the Mojave was a blast! I finally got it off road when I was up in the mountains yesterday and it was a ton of fun blasting down the dirt & gravel roads. Plus, the on road driving is really smooth. Now, if my Go Rhino Extreme Rack would hurry up and get here, so I can mount my RTT!

if you ever want to go up to 37s or more get a ruby if not get the Mojave. If you use your sway bar disconnect often get ruby if not get Mojave. Those would be my two key decision points. Wheeling with connected sway bars is no fun. You can usually live without the front locker though IMHO

There's a lot to like about the Mojave. If it had the 7000lb tow capacity of the Rubicon I would probably go for the Mojave.

I've got an 18 JLUR and love it, but I bought a roof top tent and the mounting options aren't great. I've been considering a Gladiator for awhile and finally decided to get a Gladiator and do a half or full rack on the bed and mount the tent on that. Plus, having a truck bed would be key. I loved test driving the Mojave, but I'm wondering how the shocks would do with a roof top tent mounted. Any pros, cons or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Well you can’t get a Mojave with a diesel, so Rubicon

what's your rationale for why you need a Rubicon to run 37's?

Here's a simple way to think of it. You can always build a Mojavicon, you can't build a Rubijave. Throw a locker and disconnects on the Mojave and you have the best of both worlds. I had a JLUR before my Mojave. There are other threads on this topic and both sides come out attempting to justify their purchase. Apply some logic and remove emotion. If you are genuinely conflicted and have a potential use case for both, start with the platform you can't replicate by adding parts aftermarket. The things that make a Mojave unique are not really bolt on parts. The bits that a Rubicon has that a Mojave does not can be added to a Mojave, assuming you are willing to spend the extra cheddar. The reverse isn't true within reason.

Buy a Rubicon, it’s classic, it’s the flagship and it will hold its value the best. They are relatively around the same price but I think that you get a little more with the Rubicon. Steel rear bumper is standard on the Rubi as I think the Mojave is plastic. The Rubicon includes the front locker, sway-bar disconnect and rock rail extensions to the bed overhang.

The Mojave suspension is super dope and I hear is a better ride than the Rubicon but front locker and sway-bar disconnect and the added reinforcements made me buy the Rubicon.

On a side note, I think the Rubicon hood is more attractive than the Mojave hood to be honest. It will work for the 392 but looks silly on the V6 Mojave.
Mojave hood makes it look like every other hood scooped put truck. Tacoma, Rams and such. The Rubicon hood is relatively still unique.
