I don’t know if anybody else has noticed, but whenever I use hot shots, it always knocks down my MPG‘s. I will do a tank with it and I seem to only get around 19-20 around town with it. But if I do not use it and by the third tank I am getting 22-23 around town. Same gas station nothing different other than using the hotshots. And before anyone asks this is not a one off. I have done this test now four times just to make sure that it was really happening. But has anyone else noticed this? To me that is a big difference between using it and not using it especially with the price of fuel.

I thought it was my imagination but I’ll try your experiment and report back. I’ve been using EDT since new, @32,000 now and didn’t use it this last fill up and thought it was strange to be seeing better mpg. Typically see around 17.5-18 on my short commute on 40” tires. It’ll be a while before I get a few tanks through it @ 1 fill up every 3 weeks. My previous JT with the 3.6 only averaged 13mpg on 37s, same commute.

They all preach that it increases fuel mileage. I use to use Hot shots and switched to Opti-lube xpd. Absolutely no difference in fuel mileage. Bone stock I was getting 26.8 in the city and 30+ - highway. Now I get around the same as you 19-20 mpg

I ran a fleet of 50 buses for the last 20 years and that is not a brand that I have ever heard of. Sounds like snake oil to me. If it sounds too good to be true, then it is.
Stick with known industry leaders like Amsoil, Lucas, Howes etc.. There are 2 types of fuel additives, the cheap ones that you add regularly and the more potent ones that you add once or twice a year and cost more. Check ingredient lists and compare them. If a small chemical company finds a magic elixir, the big companies will jump on it too or buy them out. Yes, there are some lesser known quality products out there that are only available to shops and not retail.
Hot Shots seems to pay for product placement on Google.

How much are you using per tank? I dont see much of a difference.

Hotshots is one of the industry leaders, and theres numerous videos out there about tests done between all the major players, and Hotshots typically scores amongst the best.

I use Hot Shots EDT every few tanks, and it does not make a difference one way or the other to my fuel mileage. If it does make a difference, it seems to be slightly better, but it is close enough that I would call it a wash.
My mpg runs around 24 mpg, give or take a mpg, stock on 35's.

Per the bottle I am using the 1 oz per 10 gallons so I try to fill up around the 1/2 tank mark so normally its only 1 oz at a time.

I'd double check the bottle, per my bottle it's 1oz/25gal for a premium dose, 2oz/25gal for performance dose.

If you're running 1oz when you fill up from half tank, it's too much. Remember the fuel in your tank already has a mixture in it, so you want to adjust accordingly. At half a tank you're probably only getting 6-8 gallons. We only have a 18gal tank IF you pump slow and can get it to completely fill up. If you just stop when the pump shuts off you're really only about 16 gallons total.

I had a diesel Gladiator and used this product. I used it for the added benefit of keeping the high pressure fuel system clean and working better.
Now that I have a gas Gladiator I use top tier gas and fuel additives some times.
