Do you have a way to track your regens? iDash gauge or another gauge?
My thought is if they are using 1oz/10gal, then their filter is probably getting clogged more often and they're in regen a lot.

Now that I have a gas Gladiator I use top tier gas and fuel additives some times.
I have been using nothing but top tier fuel for many years . Never had any fuel related issues so hopefully it does make a difference.

The reason to use additives in modern diesels is to lubricate the pump. Modern diesel stripped all of the lubricating ingredients to keep the internals of the fuel system lubricated. No lubrication leads to high pressure fuel pump failures

It has nothing to do with top tier fuels but they tend to help with fuel mileage

I use Hotshots EDT and mileage is unchanged.

Only see mileage differences between winter and summer blend diesel.

Retarded...err... I mean Retired
I don’t know if anybody else has noticed, but whenever I use hot shots, it always knocks down my MPG‘s. I will do a tank with it and I seem to only get around 19-20 around town with it. But if I do not use it and by the third tank I am getting 22-23 around town. Same gas station nothing different other than using the hotshots. And before anyone asks this is not a one off. I have done this test now four times just to make sure that it was really happening. But has anyone else noticed this? To me that is a big difference between using it and not using it especially with the price of fuel.
Actually, yes.
I normally use Opti-Lube, but bought some Hot Shots for the bottle, (long story), and noticed lately my mpg's dropped a little. Thought it was because I removed the front air dam/pan to work on the steering components. I'll have to switch back and see if it makes a difference.

Opti-lube XPD is what I use.

Highly recommend the following video:

I ran a fleet of 50 buses for the last 20 years and that is not a brand that I have ever heard of. Sounds like snake oil to me. If it sounds too good to be true, then it is.
Stick with known industry leaders like Amsoil, Lucas, Howes etc.. There are 2 types of fuel additives, the cheap ones that you add regularly and the more potent ones that you add once or twice a year and cost more. Check ingredient lists and compare them. If a small chemical company finds a magic elixir, the big companies will jump on it too or buy them out. Yes, there are some lesser known quality products out there that are only available to shops and not retail.
Hot Shots seems to pay for product placement on Google.
I get you've been in the business a while... but things evolve. Hot Shots is definitely NOT snake oil. They are up with the best of them. They have all the testing and certifications along with a big variety of products. I use their EDT and LX4. A few 3.0 owners have had the HPFP explode on them due to friction and incompatible metals being used, there was a recall, took years to get the parts. I never had an issue, I contribute atleast some of my experience to Hot Shots .

For the OP: what ratio are you using, Standard ? Performance ?
Also
Could it be possible your testing was done during the transition from winter to summer blends ?

I have always use a mixture of EDT and LX4 since the first tank. I might have missed a few times due to restocking, but never noticed a difference.

Maybe some testing is in order.

Per the bottle I am using the 1 oz per 10 gallons so I try to fill up around the 1/2 tank mark so normally its only 1 oz at a time.
I think you have misread the bottle, WHICH MIGHT BE YOUR ISSUE....
correct dosage is 1 oz to 25 Gal for regular treatment (premium dosage) and 2 oz to 25 gal for a performance dosage (which you do not need)

Yep, the standard dosage should be 1 oz to 25 gal

I was running off my memory and I was wrong. I was using 1/2 oz not a full 1 oz when filling up. I had to double check the bottle this morning and see what line I was using when dosing it.

Id love to get 19-20:) I sit at 14.5 most of the time.
Most gassers do. Us diesel guys are different.

I am getting 20 -22 MPG during my daily commute of 70 miles with Hotshots. Now, I may have to do some testing just to see if there is any difference. I have been running it since shortly after I bought the Jeep to make sure that things stayed lubed.

I would have the diesel if it would have been offered in the manual. The irony is, if i did it over Id order the auto anyway:facepalm:

Even 1/2oz when filling, if filling from a half tank as you stated, is too much, and running too high of concentration can cause your DPF and SCR filters to clog up faster. If your DPF is getting clogged, you're truck is going through regen more frequently which burns more fuel. I would try lowering your dosage and see if you notice anything. Might take a few tanks and a regen or two to really get an idea though.

Mixing Ratio: 1 oz per 25 gallons (0.04 oz per gallon)

1 Gallon = 0.04 oz
2 Gallons = 0.08 oz
3 Gallons = 0.12 oz
4 Gallons = 0.16 oz
5 Gallons = 0.20 oz
6 Gallons = 0.24 oz
7 Gallons = 0.28 oz
8 Gallons = 0.32 oz
9 Gallons = 0.36 oz
10 Gallons = 0.40 oz
11 Gallons = 0.44 oz
12 Gallons = 0.48 oz
13 Gallons = 0.52 oz
14 Gallons = 0.56 oz
15 Gallons = 0.60 oz
16 Gallons = 0.64 oz
17 Gallons = 0.68 oz
18 Gallons = 0.72 oz
