Have you removed the discriminator yet?

Lol. NopeHave you removed the discriminator yet?
You should. I removed mine at 2k miles. I dont have to use the stupid adapter funnel and I can use the bigger high flow pumps at truck stops. Best mod yet. 10 out of 10 do recommend lol.Lol. Nope
Yea that really irks me, watch all BP's every pump handle is green. As much as I love a good backwater Sinclar save yourself the headache and drive over to the diesel truck island and hope they have a non-commercial handle on one of the ends, not a deal breaker but you'll get used to it.The only "issue" is stations that replace old diesel nozzles with the same color handle as their gasoline nozzles, so you have to be paying attention to that. And you REALLY need to make sure anyone borrowing your truck is aware.
Now that is a great tip right there. I prefer NOT to F around and Find Out on this one. Good heads up.Word of warning if you are using the nozzle adapter, it WILL NOT click the pump off and you will have a fine mess to show for it. I recommend ditching the discriminator. I removed mine and it is so much better for multiple reasons.
Maybe it's designed to let you know when you have run out of fuel.I guess I was lower on fuel than I thought. I mean, I didn’t even get a low fuel warning yet.
Theres enough other stuff under there thats going to hit as well that raising the filter housing is probably more work than it's worth. They do make skids for the housing if you're concerned about hitting it.This is a question not directly related to filling the tank, but I am curious. Is there any reason I should not raise the entire fuel filter housing several inches vertically to relocate it with a new bracket (for ground clearance)? Will this affect draining water from the fuel system?
Funnel is easy enough, but I hated dealing with it afterwards. Eventually the plastic case mine came in started breaking down from the fuel and additive and making a mess, which meant either buying a new one or having to put it into plastic bags which also started melting and making a mess. It just became more work than it was worth. You'll figure that one out really fast if your standing in front of the nozzle it does gush.
I guess it's time I try removing the thingy tho using the funnel is pretty easy.

Get out the truck, get my glove on, take the adapter out, put in additive, remove adapter, proceed to grab towel to wipe it off and find towel dispenser is empty, put adapter away, grab pump handle only to find it's the wrong size, old lady in her best sunday church clothes in shock as I drop 10 f-bombs while fumbling with getting the adapter back out... you get the picture.

I have never had an issue filling up with a nozzle. From New Mexico to Montana California Nevada Oregon Utah ArizonaIt’s no where under the rear driver seat bottom with the hardware holder. It’s not behind the seatback either. I have a car seat installed on the passenger side so I can’t get a good look at what’s under there besides the floor jack. Behind that seatback is a portable speaker, but can’t remember if I saw a funnel or tool kit. They are probably just missing. It’ll get an appropriate funnel and keep with me for now. I’ve got a swing case mounted in the bed from the previous owner. Pretty useful.
Excursions are cool, too. Maybe not as cool when you have to fill that tank.Usually 42 gallons, if I run it down that far.
That's an Excursion though. 44 gallon tank.
I assume you may have been asking about JT's?![]()
