I looked into this recently and when buying the hood kits from All Mopar Parts (the sponsor on the forum), the Mojave hood kit with all parts necessary including the cowl pieces, was the same price or cheaper than the Rubicon hood kit. I thought it to be rather amusing...Yeah, I didn't want to get into all the extra parts needed for the Mojave hood. That's why I opted for Rubi.

Anyway - both hoods look great. Good luck getting the truck fixed!
Not trying to be that guy by looking at the fine print. The shipping charges are not included. Additionally, paint and prep are not included. RubiTrux takeoff includes shipping and comes painted, currently in your choice of black or black.https://www.allmoparparts.com/sku/mojavehoodkit.html

Woah, only a $50 difference.

Well it certainly could have been worse!I was going to attach some, but the dents don't show up well. A few crinkles and a couple golf ball size dents.
GEICO actually bought me a replacement AEV bumper once. Mind you, it was to replace an AEV bumper that was scratched by their customer. But GEICO (my policy) routinely would replace certain aftermarket parts with better stuff because they could get special direct pricing. They give you a value for your stuff and then let you choose what you want to replace it with. This was for car audio and I got a banging system once when someone stole my old junk system out of my car. I doubt they have the same relationship with some 4x4 parts wholesaler but who knows. In my experience there’s always been some kind of dialog with the insurance company when dealing with aftermarket parts. Depending on the insurance company they may very well pay for the “upgrade” depending on what they can get it for vs parts and labor at a body shop.I've been in the insurance business for almost 20 years. Not once has this been a factor other than who goes on the check. What I've said hundreds of time is if you're going to upgrade...during a repair is the time to do it, but it's not at the Ins. Co's expense.
Unless there's a stipulation or separate endorsement in the policy where if you total a vehicle you get a replacement of the current model year...(extremely rare, but out there), an insurance company does not owe for an embetterment, which is the act of improving or enhancing. An insurance company indemnifies based on bringing the insured to a pre-loss condition. There are several other little bits and pieces to it, but that's the gist of it.
Another caveat to this would be if the vehicle is leased. Most if not all lease contracts actually forbid altering the vehicle from its stock form.

Awesome, thanks for the links! I'm going to go new Mojave hood. The price difference is minimal. I like the hood scoop of the Mojave better, but thought it may be a PITA with everything needed, but Allmoparparts made it easy with the kit. Just waiting on shipping costs which I'm sure will be in the $400 range...https://www.allmoparparts.com/sku/mojavehoodkit.html

Thank you. I know it could have been worse as pictured above. I was surprised at the minimal damage compared to the size of the tree-15 inch base, 75 foot tall pine. I did a stupid thing, but the Jeep is repairable and now I am doing some unexpected upgrades. And most important, no one got hurt. This is kinda what I pictured when I read your original post.

If I'm being honest, I was a little disappointed when you described the actual damage. But only in the best possible way.
Really though, I'm glad nobody was injured.
Will do!hell yeah, awesome. Make sure to post some pics when it is done!
