I installed the Steer Smarts Sector Shaft Brace w/ Track Bar Reinforcement I got at Northridge the other day and finally had the chance to take it out on the highway and just...wow. I am extremely impressed just how much of a difference it made. There is no more dead zone in the steering, it also feels tighter and is much much easier to keep straight on the highway.

I thought it wouldn't do much for me since I have the steel steering box and only have a 1inch spacer lift front and rear, but it really helped ALOT! For reference, my Gladiator drove fine before, I still loved it much more than my 2 door JK. I drove the JT through a strong cross wind on the highway ( the area I live is extremely windy) and I was able to keep the Jeep tracking straight much easier than before. I know this seems like an ad, but I just really wanted to gush about this mod because it made my JT drive better than it did brand new when it was still on 33's, its on 37's now.

Now put a decent track bar on it and you will really be impressed!

Same experience here.. the frame where the steering box is mounting is thin as construction paper and flexes a lot at the steering box. Seems like something that will eventually crack from fatigue without the brace, probably designed by bean counter, but what do I know.

I have one waiting for the lift and everything else to be installed, I'm hoping for even better results than what the new steering box gave, max effort to keep it on the road!!

Wife was in a storm and said it was hell to keep it straight,

How long did it take to install 🤔 I like the steer smarts brace the Northridge guy in the video link basically said it is stronger welded on in and outside

It took me about 3 hours, taking my time (and I forgot to pick up red loctite beforehand). The thing that took the most time was lining up some of the bolts. I chose it over the Synergy because its 1/4 steel rather than 3/16. And I heard the synergy brace had some sort of issue with the bearing.

Yeah the Northridge guy says that you have to buy an upgraded bearing or else it comes with a brass bushing on the non-upgrade version.

I did hear that about the Steer Smart brace, but I also heard it wouldn't work with my RC trackbar, this is why I went with Synergy because their answer was "...they can't guarantee it" and I liked that answer better :CWL:. I did get the sealed roller bearing though, I heard its way better than the non-sealed one.

How easy was it to install, I’ve been looking at these for a while to help with long highway drives to camping spots. I don’t mind paying a shop to install it and align it all at once but if it’s a driveway job i might give it a shot.

Can't speak for the Steer Smarts brace, but the Synergy brace is 100% driveway job, no alignment really needed you would just have to adjust the drag link to straighten the steering wheel. I did this install on my lunch break, I work at home.

Yup, definitely a driveway job. If I'm not mistaken the Synergy and Steer Smarts install pretty much the same exact way
