yes it is.
And you have 40s? What size lift? I have 37s and 3.5 lift...measure at 42".my tailgate open on level ground is 40" high. see pictures at post #62.
Did you end up purchasing the heavy duty version from Amazon ?Mine is supposed to arrive Tuesday, so may be installed by the end of the week. Will take pics if I get it installed by the weekend, as I'm on travel after...so wouldn't be until May.
Same, I was almost at 42/43" on a mopar lift / 37's... mine is a JTRD, if that makes a difference. And you have 40s? What size lift? I have 37s and 3.5 lift...measure at 42".
a fold-away gaf hook on that handle would make it convenient to ‘grab’ that item that rolled to the cab end of the bed Without having to climb in.You can get handles, too - a handle that slips into the striker. It's a heck of a lot handier than a folding stool that is still going to make you stretch between the stool and a high tailgate. Ladders allow smaller increments........

40" tires and 4.5" teraflex lift.And you have 40s? What size lift? I have 37s and 3.5 lift...measure at 42".
Not trying to ask a dumb question, but what points did you use to measure ? 100% flat ground ? Did you measure to the "TOP" of the tailgate where the actual mounting plate bolts in ?40" tires and 4.5" teraflex lift.
it's too funny you asked the height question! i took a photo this morning in case this topic arose. from the underside of the stake/top of open tailgate it is 40".Not trying to ask a dumb question, but what points did you use to measure ? 100% flat ground ? Not questioning you, just asking in order to figure out the difference in the measurements being reported.
I am going to re-measure mine today and pay more attention to detail.
* Based on your pictures and the angle of your ladder, you measurements appear to be right.
Hopefully @SD Rider will receive his and have time to do the install before his trip. Maybe we can talk him into detailing and taking pictures as he goes along.
Great idea, that will be how I measure mine today, maybe I screwed it up before, but I will be sure to pay attention this time.it's too funny you asked the height question! i took a photo this morning in case this topic arose. from the underside of the stake/top of open tailgate it is 40".

being closer to 100 years old than 20, i always use it. i try to not rush tasks but it is easy to be preoccupied and not give oneself the best footing. if loading something onto the tailgate with the idea of sliding it into the box, it does need to be moved. if you noticed, i have a rubber mat on the bed floor, which MINIMIZES sliding. zero regrets except it is $10 cheaper now than when i bought it!Great idea, that will be how I measure mine today, maybe I screwed it up before, but I will be sure to pay attention this time.
Unfortunately, I took the HF ladder back already, but not going to sweat it, I like your Amazon version better. ?
After all this tailgate ladder talk, I don't think I ever asked, how often do you use it ? When does it seem most useful ? Any negatives/downfalls yet ?
I also have a rubber mat so I understand very much the "no slide zone" ?being closer to 100 years old than 20, i always use it. i try to not rush tasks but it is easy to be preoccupied and not give oneself the best footing. if loading something onto the tailgate with the idea of sliding it into the box, it does need to be moved. if you noticed, i have a rubber mat on the bed floor, which MINIMIZES sliding. zero regrets except it is $10 cheaper now than when i bought it!
Mine measured 42" to the top of the bed liner on the thickest part of the tailgate. I did the install on my driveway but had to pull into the road to get it flat to ensure it worked....I was nervous about those 3 inches!Hopefully @SD Rider will receive his and have time to do the install before his trip.
