I feel really stupid asking this question but What are the different fenders styles?
Rubicon Fenders (same ones the Mojave has, right?)
Sport
Sport S ????
and a Max Tow fender?

I have a 21 Sport but it's got two piece painted fenders. I thought they didn't come that way. But I was also told by the dealer that it was a special ordered one that the person who ordered it ended up not wanting.

dealership employees will say any old thing that pops into their head to "answer" a question quickly. sometimes they are even right! (but not in this case).

Jeep won't let you "special order" any part combination that doesn't exist in the builder. The only way this could have been unique is if the dealer ordered extras with their parts department and had them painted by a (maybe their own?) body shop to match and then swapped. The likelihood of such things? highly unlikely. the likelihood of this happened without the customer being charged for it? nil.

Isn't the difference that causes a problem in the outside edge of the fenders? It is different on certain models, like Max Tow and High Altitude, making it difficult to get mud flaps that fit correctly.

Rubi fenders (front) top of fenders are raised up to be even with the hood line, and have a sever cut out for the hood latch, it appears you have Sport S (two piece)fenders on.

How much wider are the Rubicon/Mojave fenders than the Sport fenders?

My understanding:

1) All fenders bolt into the same location.

2) Rubicon/Mojave (both painted and non) are higher, allowing for 35's w/out a lift.

3) Painted non-rubi fenders are two-piece fenders.

4) non-painted, non-rubi fenders are a single piece, plastic

5) Max-tow, Rubi, Mojave, and High Altitude have a unique lower portion with an extra lip to meet the coverage requirements for the wider axles.

I remember that you used to be able to add painted fenders to any package that didn't already have them if you were doing an order, I think they took that option away at some point.

Any chance it's 80th Anniversary Edition? They come with painted fenders and the other differences are subtle.

I don't think so. They have a plate or something. This was built Dec 2020 though. The build sheet simply calls it the "Body Color Fender Flares (2 piece)"

Main reason I'm asking is because I'm thinking about the American Adventure Labs fender chop:

True, only reason I believed them was because it was badged "sport" but had the 2 piece fenders, the Mopar headliner and the Mopar Katskin leather seats and the spray in bedliner and the bigger 285/70/R17s BFG KO2 tires. Also had a Camper Shell already installed.

When I was using the builder webpage to build my sport s max tow I could not select painted fenders.

I ordered at the dealership and the guy who put in the order put a code in that got me the paint matched wider max tow fenders.

How difficult was it to split the fender and add this bracket? It’s definitely intriguing
