Currently no parts stores have diff cover gaskets in stock in my area and neither does the dealer. can I reuse the old one and RTV it? I plan on saving this for this upcoming weekend as i will be flushing my brakes as well.

Reusable. Clean, inspect for any damage and reinstall. My rear I changed to a Motobilt cover with factory gasket and no RTV. No leaks or seepage.

I’ve reused it 3 times without any issues, first time to install air lockers, 2nd time to change fluid after 500 miles and 3rd time to change diff covers and no issues.

I used RTV only with the steel CavFab and Motobilt covers so they add more rigidity to the diff. No leaks that way either.
