You probably have those real midwestern deer that can destroy a car, don't you? I hit one of these southern deer with my prius and didn't even dent my car. I know people who trashed Jeeps in Ohio with some of the bucks there.
Oh, yeah. Hit a buck and you can die - their feet go through the glass, or their rack........
I hit a doe with my SX4 a few years ago and it shoved that right fender back real good. I was lucky that it was almost a glancing blow and it sent that deer into the air and across the ditch into the front yard of someone along the road. Right hind leg was pointing straight up.

I need to set up a camera in my JT on a tripod or something and get a video of the drive home, especially the last 8 or so miles. It's beautiful, but you have to watch out for the wildlife, too. I heard the coyotes singing the other night - the owls were really going at it - LOUD. Deer were next to the woods next to our yard watching my wife mow.

Sounds like maybe you could be in the northern half of CA? One of my cars came from that area and the guy sent me pics, beautiful area for sure.
Yep, you guessed it. Only 90 min from the Oregon border.

I've noticed that mine don't even seem to have much of a high beam. In playing with the two its almost no difference
Very strange. Do you see an actual change of bulbs? I wonder if the second set of led's are not working?

That would be a nice feature. I honestly don't remember the last time I used high beams on a vehicle. HID has been a godsend and I'm a little concerned about switching to led.
LED is significantly better than HID. No need to doubt the capability.

It changes but it really does not change the amount of light it seems. Only that when I switch to High Beam the pattern changes and the light pattern shoots much higher. Honestly the regular seem to throw out plenty of light for what I need.

Mine is a fairly obvious difference on high. Easy to tell.....especially for other traffic!

Yea that is why I was looking at it cause I had gotten flashed a few times when I was hauling a load in the truck at night and would switch to high beam to show but didn't really notice much difference. So the next night in my driveway I was switching back and forth and saw that there was not a lot of difference in the amount of light just the way the pattern was dispersed. Low Beam was very tight and straight but high didn't change the amount of light just seemed that the pattern shot up higher on the garage and was not as tight and clean cutoff

After have used auto high beams for the past 3 years I'm really not impressed. At least not with FCA's implementation of it.

I'd say about half the time it doesn't turn the highs off when traffic is coming the other way. Then it'll turn them off when it senses someone's driveway light, or any light off the side of the road, even though the road is pitch black. Or, the high beams simply don't turn on at all when I want them to. I tow my boat a lot at 3-5 in the morning, country roads. It got to be so frustrating that I turned the option off.
That’s what these forums are for. There are settings you can change the sensitivity for auto headlights,

Mine - in the 2020 and now my 2022, worked absolutely perfect with factory settings.
Keep in mind that lifts, level kits, big tires and so on can change how these things work.
