I think everyone needs to, at least one time, take the whole top off(doors optional too), go total apocalypse now, and blast some Wagner, especially if it's on a gravel or dirt/mud road.....

You think that's bad, try something like Henry Mancini or Aaron Copeland.
Oh, I don't get bent about it in the slightest, just give them a nod and roll on. I'll have try some Copeland and Mancini when it gets warmer. Like both of those, thanks for the tip

That reminds me, we need to get a plan together for the TJ, it needs a new head unit and speakers throughout.

I know everyone has their preferred audio band of choice, I'm not disappointed with the premium audio group that I got with my '22. The only thing that drives me crazy if I think about it too much is, why can I only turn it up to 27.... Why such an arbitrary odd number... Give me 30 or eleventy...

When I ordered, block heater was a singular option, it might have been $150, or included in the winter package with a couple thousand to get the large seats, warmers, and many other things I didn't want. I passed on the block heater, it doesn't get and stay that cold here in the Midwest, and the 3L diesel isn't a huge engine to crank over from cold. I've not had any problems, might have seen -10F overnight, turns over, but maybe a little grumpy the first minute or two.

Go back to the roots of less electronics less flashy big engines.

Just make it work and work reliably.

Agree 100%. Almost 3 years later I'm still trying to accept the push button start, that 1 second delay bugs me most of the time. I just want to turn a key and feel like I'm actually doing something.....

QFT but sadly likely to never happen.

Most of these electronic doodads are a result of various govt mandated safety devices and emissions controls. And consumers expect a certain level of equipment like power windows, AC, in dash displays, auto transmissions, etc.

Oh I understand, and no offense meant. I know there's even different ordering constraints inside the US depending on where you are, on top of what you want or need, and package combinations...etc. Stanley(jt) and I want to venture up far north one of these days, bucket list thing

Digging up this thread because I had one of those ... what do you call 'em? It's like a headache, but with pictures.

Ditch the removable roof.

Hang on, put the pitchforks down, hear me out.

Split the Freedom top into the two front sections and one rear. Behind the rear seats do an Integrated roll bar into the cab body, kind of a modern take on a sport-bar. Maybe even option some wiring up there for lights and mounts for a roof rack.

Now, make the whole rear window larger, so it goes all the way to the sides and top - and make it a power roll-down rear window.

With doors and roof off and the window rolled down it will be basically the same as removing the roof, but now the entire roof fits in the bed and you have a spot over the back of the cab for lighting, maybe a power plug for a RTT over the bed, or a more solid roof rack spot for kayaks, lumber, or other long items that don't fit in the bed. Hell, you could integrate all of that with some flip-up stops at the corners so things don't slide off the side when cornering.

All of that and you just have to give up 6" or so of your fully open top.
