But you got yours for $375 right? Or less? People are griping because they’re now being asked to pay 50% more than you paid.

With respect to quality and getting what you paid for, no one wants total junk, but a bed extender isn’t exactly the most complex or heavy duty component on the truck. I’m sure one could be made from military spec materials and aircraft grade tolerances and designed to outlast the truck, but if a $175 extender provides 95% of the functionality and is durable enough to outlast the average ownership duration I don’t think people should be judged for not fetishizing quality for quality’s sake.

I reached out, ACE said it will. Now finding out if it works with a Diamondback cover when it's in the stowed position.

I do not think it will work, stock, the lock rods of the Diamondback need to be/move through an area partially occupied by the Ace Bed Extender when the extender is in-board facing.

I think this may be solvable with some carefully placed holes or notches in the Ace (but nothing that would be major enough to substantially compromise structural integrity on the Ace). I have a Diamondback and I have an Ace and I hope to make them both compatible with each other, but it's down the priority list amidst scarce time.

Can't fault them for it if they're still selling them at those prices, though this may invite some competition from other vendors.

Yes I can. This was well before covid they tripled the prices. People complained when it was $375 let alone $1200.

I didn't say anything about COVID.

They found a high demand market for their product so they bumped their price and are still able to sell them at the inflated price. It'll likely stay that way until other companies step in and offer something similar for far less.

Your choice as a customer is to not buy at the higher price.

I'd certainly consider paying up to 3x the price of the generic one-size-fits-all noname Chinesium bed extenders for one of these, but not 6x the price.
