Can this be fixed half way between bed/extension ie above the bed if need be? I occasionally scoop up panels as the shop and for me to carry them properly they need to lay flat like plywood

I’ve propped it up then slid stuff under and then put it down either in or extended. Hope that helps.

Jumped on one with the BF sale as well.
@ACE Engineering
Can you share instructions for install?
Also please confirm what sized nutsert/rivet tool mandrel we need for the included nutserts.
Thanks.

Finally got mine installed, had to order the 33/64 drill bit. Not too hard but definitely a measure thrice drill once. Moving up in bit size gradually helps.

One KEY note, for those with BAK X4 hard rolling tonneau cover, this won't work for you very well, and I wouldn't recommend getting it. The issue is that the bed cover has locking latches that stick out in towards the bed at the tailgate to actuate the locking mechanism when you roll the cover out flat. They stick in far enough that you can't flip this thing on the hinge, instead having to remove it to flip it. I'm going to see if I can either get the custom made so that they fold out of the way, or move up my timeline for going with a topper instead of tonneau cover which is why I still went ahead with the install. Here are some pics showing it installed as well as the problem I described.

Too bad the price was increased nearly $100 from when it launched. $472 is just way too much for me right now...
Completely agree. Price goes up $100 In a few months. Just in time for Black Friday. I’m calling bullshit.

Give me 25% off the original price of $375 from only 4 months ago, I’ll buy it right now. Otherwise, no thanks.

When I got mine, the launch price was 375 and that was at a discount. Oh well, you get what you pay for.

A great addition to this would be an optional attachment floor when its folded in which serves as security cover when folded out. I carry surfboards in my truck bed and would love to be able to secure them better with a lid that extends beyond the tonneau. Come on you ACE engineers, work your magic!!

…and just like that it’s now $557

Can be the greatest product in the world, but when it’s (in my opinion) 175% overpriced, it isn’t even an option.

My JT needs this, but at that price point, it has other things it needs more:)

Completely agree. You’re in new bumper/fox2.0 territory for that price.

I’ll just pay $175 on Amazon and lightly modify to ensure it clears the tonneau. It’s a bed extender, not some precision tuned piece of equipment.

Check the main page, another company purchased ACE back in June 2021. Up to the new company what they will do, but their other parts from the new company seem cheaply made. That will make some of you happy. Oh well, I got mine!!!

But you got yours for $375 right? Or less? People are griping because they’re now being asked to pay 50% more than you paid.

With respect to quality and getting what you paid for, no one wants total junk, but a bed extender isn’t exactly the most complex or heavy duty component on the truck. I’m sure one could be made from military spec materials and aircraft grade tolerances and designed to outlast the truck, but if a $175 extender provides 95% of the functionality and is durable enough to outlast the average ownership duration I don’t think people should be judged for not fetishizing quality for quality’s sake.

I got one at the intro price but have been sidetracked with other projects. Quality is superb but I don't think I could reach to or rationalize the current price.

Given the total lack of instructions, I am a bit confused and concerned with regard to whether the holes you drill for the rivnuts for the pivot bracket are, or are not, supposed to land exactly "in" several of the "dimples" that are in the OE sheetmetal where the brackets are mounted.

For those of you who have successfully installed, can you shed light on the hole vs dimple locations?

Thanks
