Insurance costs have a lot more to do with vehicle safety than with vehicle cost. My $130k SVR cost less to insure than my old convertible two seater that cost 1/3 as much.
Insurance companies are considering how many people you're likely to kill or send to the hospital in case of a crash. Replacing a $60k truck is nothing compared to the hundreds of thousands in medical bills ... And unfortunately Jeeps are pretty good murder wagons (M and P rating on wrangler JK is the latest available to NIHS and it's pretty bad for side impact). I can't imagine the safety ratings of the JT is much better than the JK was.
Add to that the fact that the JT is brand new and no data is available, they're going to err on the side of caution and charge more of it.
Heck Teslas are supposedly the safest cars and for the first few years they were super expensive to insure due to lack of data.
So yeah, drive safely and help reduce the fatality numbers
