I just started having problems with my iPhone unpredictably disconnecting from CarPlay.

I searched for previous posts, but most are 2+ years old.

Have there been any developments on this issue?

Might be worth seeing if the charger port on the phone has pocket lint in it. Sounds stupid but stuff collects in that thing. I had problems with my radio screen blinking out when using CarPlay. Used a toothpick to dig out a small amount of pocket lint from that port and it solved the problem.

This may not be your problem but I'd double check your cable. Lots of posts saying only cables from Apple work consistently. This includes making sure the cable hasn't started to fray.

Also, what version of iOS is your phone on? If it needs an update that could be a possible culprit too.

I've only had my glad for a week but have had zero issues in the 1300 miles I've driven it with a factory apple usb-c cable in the dash plug in. I tried the center console usb plug and it worked as well but it was only a brief function test.

I’ve had my truck for 8 months and the console jack worked fine until now.

I tried the dash jack today and it never disconnected.

I’ve read accounts on the forum saying that the dash jack works fine, but the console jack can be problematic. I guess that’s what’s going on, but it’s just a USB port for crying out loud. How hard can it be to make that work reliably!?!? It’s not like it’s new technology.

All of my ports work, the console one and the ones in the backseat included. I'd say 9 times out of 10, it's the cable.

My center console disconnects constantly, the dashboard works flawlessly other than an experience with some pocket lint in the charging port of the phone.

Only slightly annoying if someone in the back seat plugs in and takes over the music when you don’t want that. LOL. All of mine work too.

Highly annoying. Haha. My stepson does it all the time. Can confirm that they all work, and they all support AA an carplay, for better or worse.

Wait the back ones can do carplay?

Yes, they all do. It's annoying when you don't want it to. You have to decline the request every time. It takes over the head unit once something gets plugged in.
