Is it weird or a compliment if someone made the exact same Gladiator as me?

Did y’all miss the point about all the things I added that are exactly the same? It’s not the way the Jeep was ordered, it’s all the changes I’ve done that have been copied on the exact same build Jeep.
what did you change besides tires and emblems? seems like an almost stock Gladiator to me.

I don't know. Seems like much to do about about nothing. Unless you custom make your add ons yourself, then you can wonder what is going on. Everything you have is off a shelf and so is his. Bound to happen so what?

Jeeps are cool + owner with no creativity = copy someone's rig.

I could see this happening. I mean, I'm terrible with how to decorate a house, right, so I look at rooms online and would just copy something I see. Paint color, furniture, etc. I don't think a Jeep is quite as difficult, but maybe it's something like that.

Personally, it would really anger me in your situation. I'm ordering a blue one right now. If someone else within a mile radius of me got a blue one, it would irritate me. But I've literally only see one single other JT near me ever, and it's red.

its a bit weird but maybe the guy just digs your set up and has no idea as to where else to figure out what to add on. there is a large aftermarket of parts to choose from, it can be overwhelming; and then you have to hope what you spent money on looks/works well when installed. easier to see it done on another truck in person and go from there. i would feel somewhat justified in my mods if i were you then lol, so it's a good thing!

i would probably do something later on to differentiate yours from the other guy. good excuse for 42s and a RTT? ;)

But the reality is it's you. What you are seeing is a small tear in the multiverse and this is a different you. But still you end up with the same rig.

Meanwhile he's commenting on www.gladiatorjeepforum.com about how:

"there’s someone in Raleigh that completely ripped me off. It’s really strange. I’ve passed him a few times and all he does is stare. A Sting Gray Overland just like I ordered with what look like the same options, body colored flares with the base hardtop, same tires, tint, Rubicon shocks, Mopar black tubular side steps, blacked out emblems, Mopar bed cover, and 20% window tint. I thought it was just similar but then I found it in a parking lot (over by Creedmore the Harris Teeter) and it looks exactly the same. My wife was shocked the first time she saw it, thought I was just talking crazy. Should I be bothered by this? Should I be flattered? It's not like it's a fluke, he even bought the same wheels and tires as me. Dueler A/T Revos in 275/70/18 on stock overland wheels aren't like BFG A/T's on Fuel wheels, everyone has those."

One can only hope that the rift will heal before the obligate carnivore cows and cats that bark make their way through.
I just finished watching the Sci-Fi Channel miniseries "The Triangle" a couple days ago. They got that Philadelphia Experiment rift fixed, after all. Only problem was, everyone returned to slightly different lives. Fortunately, I still have all four of my kids, eight grands, and my Wrangler and Gladiator. And neither is blue. I'm still waiting on my five millions dollar check, though.

Clearly, you two are meant to be together. Stars and fates aligned, and all that.

I was pretty stoked when I got mine in gator - I had only seen a few gladiators ever, and none in that color. 2 weeks into driving it I spot someone with the same color and trim, though I only have steps added to mine. I was a little disappointed to no longer be the only one, but now I just look at it as being first :P Also, maybe he/she saw mine and thought it looked cool? I can dig that. There are wranglers on every block here, and most of them are the same few colors. I can imagine they go through this a lot more than us.

I almost kept the stock rims and was going to go with those tires because there is almost no other options (and I saw how they looked from this forum). The Fox shocks are super cheap on FB/Craigslist and almost did those too. Mine has 20% tint from the factory. We could have been twins very easily without much consciousness to it. I'd take it as a compliment. I get compliments about how clean everything looks all the time- IMO the overlands just look more refined with the body matched fenders and top.
That's a good looking Jeep. I like your front bumper. The color matched top is nice, but the black hard top looks good with the darker wheels and black emblems and side steps. I'm glad I have the body colored fenders.

Hah, I don't know about the 42s, but I'd love a RTT.

I’m a newbie and I think if I ever leave the stock group I will copy things I see on here. On my own I’m clueless and I’d hate to spend too much coin to get something I’m. It sure of. The easiest thing for me to do is find what I like here and get the forum member to help me with the details. My 2 cents.

There’s someone in Raleigh that completely copied me. It’s really weird. I’ve passed him a few times he won’t wave. A Sting Gray Overland like mine with the exactly the same options (fully loaded minus body colored hard top), same tires, tint, Rubicon shocks, Mopar black tubular side steps, blacked out emblems, Mopar bed cover, and 20% window tint. I knew it was pretty damn similar, but I saw it parked at the grocery store (Harris Teeter off Creedmore) and it’s exactly the same. Even my fiancée said, and I quote, “What in the actual fuck?”. I don’t know if I should be creeped out or take it as a compliment. The exact same brand and size tire was really weird too. It’s nit lien they are BFG A/Ts or something. The same 275/70/18 Dueler A/T Revos on stock overland wheels.

Edit: it’s not that common of a build either, I had to search for mine. It was a dealer locate. I only know of one similar one on dealer lots, but it was a soft top and I know who bought it. We work for the same company I see it every day.
Cool story....

I kinda did the same thing, I called my co-worker before I bought mine though. It's funny that we have the same reasons for wanting the same things like wheels. I guess I'll have to get different style wheels with the same technology (Method Racing Trail Wheels). I know there are things that I will do different.
