Is the Gladiator losing interest with buyers?

I personally never even looked or thinked about a gladiator and I bet most don't. I was looking for a med size but the Ford and chev version my wife and I could not fit in the back. The chev. Dealer I was st said have you looked at a jeep gladiator. Never heard of it before till then. They had a 21 on there lot. Both me and the wife was able to fit In the back row no problem. Next day get me a new one. So far love it I just don't think alot of people think about it. Plus they do get crappy gas mileage over the rest.

I thought I read where they have worked out an agreement

Strike authorized (on the 25th) if agreement is not reached. So far what I see in UAW news is that there's no agreement yet. I suppose that could change in a heartbeat, though.

I hope they do. These trucks are getting expensive! Another contract deal like UPS' and we'll be paying Land Rover prices for these things

Yep I am hoping to make this vehicle last long time. if for some reason it doesn't work out I am just going to buy a second hand SUV and get me a small trailer to pull to move my kayak and other stuff around (LOL)

Personally I think the JT is a very niche market. If I wanted a mid size truck to just use as a truck and not modify I would have went with a Tacoma. I am a Wrangler guy and got rid of my JL for this. I am also a "truck" person, this fills all requirements.

I was told when I bought mine from the dealer sales are slow and there isn't much demand for these on the grand scale of things. I have seen the same gladiators sitting on the lot at the local dealership for several months, they just aren't moving. I wouldn't be surprised to see Jeep discontinue in the future, they will go the way of the Commanche.

They have been saying that since covid, but the numbers say otherwise. They are going to raise interest rates further because the economy just won't slow down.

Everyone I know is still making money, they are building houses like crazy in my area, can't get enough people on construction crews, dealers are still doing markups on cars, my industry can't hire people fast enough, still getting big raises and bonuses to keep me from leaving. But all you hear is doom and gloom about how the economy sucks because groceries are expensive. Kinda a weird time.

I travel weekly for work, still packed restaurants everywhere I go with long waits, Vegas is always jam packed shoulder to shoulder. Disney still selling out. Homes are still being sold above asking where I live even with interest at 7-8% nowadays. Stock market keeps going up, etc etc. I have multiple openings at work and don't get any applications, there aren't enough workers to go around.

All articles I see point to Disney losing numbers. Friend went and said it was the best time ever - hardly any lines anywhere.

Openings at work are not due to a worker shortage - there isn't a shortage of bodies, there IS a shortage of people willing to work. That's also been in the news a lot lately. A manager at Pella Corp says even a 5K sign-up bonus isn't helping. And yet look at the number of new web startups.

According to research, people are refusing to go to offices, insist on working from home and in some cases, are demanding starting wages that actually exceed that of people who have been at that job a while. The young are refusing the trades, want higher starting pay, refuse a starter house, and are not willing to report to work in a work place, and want shorter work days and weeks.

People have wised up. Summer is no longer the busy time for WDW. Now parents pull kids out of school during the school year to take advantage of cooler and what used to be less busy times.

Montana's the same way, can't build fast enough to keep up with demand. Except for Montanans who are probably moving to Idaho where land (non-Boise) is cheaper and available. We have a good size Jeep dealer in Bozeman and their inventory is still slim.

Hell yeah! This is how I've been doing it for years. I'll never work in an office again, I always discuss salary with coworkers, and I constantly interview for other jobs to leverage my salary increase each year. "Traditional work" will have no problem getting workers when they get with the times and offer competitive terms, or they will die out and get replaced.

Few points:
- Midsize/small pickup market has had manufactures flood this market compared to what was out there 20 and even 10 years ago.
- Much nicer trucks for the money out there. Most consumers dont want rugged but luxury.
- Everyone always mentions how Gladiator will go away from low sales. My question is really how many parts are actually specialized for the Gladiator over the wrangler that would make the gladiator economically not wortwhile to keep in production? Even with low sales producing a few stretched frames and beds just doesnt seem like alot of differences to keep producing.

Must be a regional thing. I need to get you photos of the local Chevy and Ford lots. They are only about 1/4 full. They can't keep vehicles in.

They arrange vehicles in a certain way to make them look more full here. Even my local Jeep sales guy said they've moved some used vehicles in amongst the new, just to make it look like they are well stocked.

I'm also seeing more Gladiators in the last few months than I've ever seen before. Even my wife commented - we're seeing a lot more of them, now we see them each time we get to town. A year ago you were lucky to see one or two at all. Now almost every trip we see at least 3 (which is amazing, really, this is full-size work truck country here)

Same in my area, truck lots are still slim pickings here for new or used and am seeing more new Gladiators running around without many sitting in the Jeep lot.

Good or bad, the future is hydrogen, not all electric.

Respectfully, this isn't happening- at least not in the next 25 years. My father worked as a Director for GM until very recently when he became a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a different company in the same field, and he was working on all electric Buick models for the 2027 models all the way back in 2013. My father worked under Henrik Fisker at Ford/Aston Martin prior to working at GM, where he took his extensive auto cad knowledge and electric system engineering knowledge and was tapped to work in a program that began retrofitting existing vehicles to being electric. My fathers job at the time was literally 3D modeling existing (at the time Chinese market) vehicles, sending 3d ideas of how to shove batteries in to the shop next door to him, and having the modelers physically putting blocks of material that represented what could be batteries into these vehicles. For perspective, my father was one of the first handful engineers for GM that worked on the Bolt, and his signature is inscribed inside the concept vehicle that was released in 2015.

He told me 10 years ago that GM had a hard goal of all-electric by 2027. He use to regularly mention the Hydrotec Program, which was effectively a "Vhs/Beta" type race, in his own words, and it was hydrogen Vs. Electric. GM didn't hit the 2027 goal, obviously, but the Ultium battery technology they are currently working with is a game changer. Conversely, the Hydrotec program fizzled, and there is not an active engineering team on it- I want to say it was right when things started closing down during COVID that he told me they moved the HydroTec team to a different area of responsibility.

Not to say that 1 company makes a difference, but GM is 15-17% of the auto market in the USA. Ford only has about 75% of the marketshare that GM does. So, if GM isn't working on it, It's hard to believe they find it to be a viable option.
